Friday

Okay, my little myrmidons, I want to set the record straight. I would never ask you to post personal stories in a public forum, and especially not on a world-wide blogspot. Apparently I was not clear enough in my instructions yesterday. I only wanted you to talk about school-type issues. In the future, if you read a post and you're thinking that I'm asking you to get up-close-and-personal, think again about the prompt. As for myself, I'll try to be more clear in the future. :-)

Today's journal:

Let's discuss music. What is your favorite type of music? Least favorite? If you're having "one of those days," is there a particular artist or album that you listen to so that you can lighten your mood? What concerts have you gone to see? Do you have a favorite artist?

  1. I don't really have a favorite type of music, but i do like 99.9 Bob FM just because he plays everyting! I like a variety, im not the type of person who can listen to the same stuff over and over again. An artist the lightens my mood would have to be Air supply! I absolutely love them!!!! I've only seen Brad Paisley in concert, but it was certainly unforgetable!

  2. I like country music, but not the twangy stuff. I like the modern country rock pop stuff that they have got goin' on now. I really enjoy all the new Christian artsists that are out now.

I don't really appreciate rap or screamo because I can't understand what they are saying sometimes(and sometimes rap can be inappropriate).

I like to organize my songs into playlist so that when I am in a certin mood I dont' have to search for goods songs at the time.

I have never been to a concert before, but I would really like to go to one eventually.

I have too many favorite artists to name them all. :)

I like this one Mrs. Myers, this was fun.

  3. My favorite type of music is country. My least favorite type of music is yodeling. I am a boy so I dont really have" one of those days". I went to Country Jam last year where I saw; Neil McCoy, Jack Ingrahm, and Gary Allen. All of those artists are awesome. I also went to the Chippewa fair to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band who sang "Fishin' in the Dark". That was cool. I have a number of favorite artists, but I dont want to limit myself by just naming one ...PEAC E OUT YALL

  5. Funny question! Today Mr. Rambo just showed me the basics of the twelve bar blues. Blues just may become my new favorite music. You never know.

I really love almost every kind of music. The type of music I enjoy listening to or playing is directly related to the type of mood I am in. If I'm trying to get pumped up for a basketball game, I like listening to heavy metal. If I'm calm and relaxed, I like classical piano. The funny part is, metal and classical piano often use some of the same chord progressions. If I'm happy, jazz always sounds good. In general, I always love country and 80's rock music. The point is, I love all types of music. They're really not that much different (except jazz and blues) and depending on the mood I am in, each style of music has its own benefits and qualities.

  6. I love all music, except twangy country and screamo. My favorite would probably be country or just whatever is on the radio.
When I'm getting ready for sports, I like more up beat music or funny stuff from when we were younger that takes away my nerves.
My favorite artist is Taylor Swift!!!! :)

  7. I like pretty much any kind of music, but I have to be in the mood for it. One style of music that I like is jazz. I like to listen to it on Pandora.
I've been to two concerts. I saw Fergie at the Minnesota State Fair a couple of years ago. There were a lot of people there, mostly girls. The other concert that I went to was Larry Long. He is kind of like a folk singer. His music was really upbeat and fun.

My favorite radio stations are z 100 and KDWB. They play a lot of different songs, but sometimes way too much.

  8. I really love all kind of music. My Dad always would sing ridiculous types of songs to me so I am pretty much use to anything and everything! If I am worked up I usually like to listen to rock music or something. If I am sad Celine Dion usually is my own person counselor :). I have been to a few concerts. I have seen Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, The Wilkinsons, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and of course Britney Spears! haha. That was a long time ago! I like music because it is a great way to express yourself and a lot of music lyrics can be relatable.

  9. Um, I don't really dislike any type of music. I am pretty easy going about types of music because my mom listens to country, my dad listens to heavy metal/rock, and I listen to everything. If I am having one of those days, I just like to listen to any type of music that corresponds with the type of mood I am in. It always makes me feel better. I haven't ever gone to a concert of any type yet, but I definately plan to go to one sometime in my lifetim. =) If I could pick one artist to like the best, I would have to say Josh Turner. I like pretty much every song he has written, and I like his deep voice. =D

  10. Last semester I took an Evolution of Jazz class at UWEC. This class forevermore won my heart over for jazz music. I love Dizzie Gilespie's works on the trumpet, and John Coltrane is always a pleasure to listen to. There are so many different types of jazz I haven't been able to pick my favorites out yet.

  11. well my favorite music is classic rock/rock. i dislike country and rap. and i agree with keving that yodeling is really bad as well. most of those songs are about love and sorrow. i went to rock fest this last year with kody and we saw a lot of bands, but my favorite was probably korn. on those unique days, i listen to godsmack because they always make me happier.

  12. My favorite types of music are country and whatever type of music they play on Z100 :). I don't like screamo or techno, especially when the techno doesn't have words. When I'm in a happy mood or getting pumped up to run a race, I like upbeat stuff with a cool beat or something. When I'm relaxed I like country. When I'm sad I listen to sad songs. Pretty simple... :)
I went to Country Fest last year and it was fantastic! I saw Taylor Swift, and she's THE BOMB! I also liked Gloriana - they're kind of a new group but their harmonies are awesome.
I like lots of different artists. I like the Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town, Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson :)

  13. I'm open to lots of types of music but one I cannot handle is country. (Sorry for the people who do :D) I also really do not appreciate rap music that is inappropriate, especially when women are written about as if we are merely objects and not real people. Other than that, I don't have a huge problem with other types of music. When I'm doing homework I like to listen to chill music like Adele, or Rachel Yamagata because it helps me focus. However, I will forever love The Hush Sound because I love their music and and were my first concert experience! (and yes I realize how late I'm posting this, but I woke up in a frenzy because I knew I needed another post!!!)
