Let's talk exercise. Since I've been sick, I've not hit the gym as hard as I usually do. However, this morning I'm actually feeling more like myself, so off to the gym I went at 4:30 a.m. What role does exercise play in your life? Are you someone who is pretty physically active, or are you more of a couch potato? If you are active, what plans do you have in mind for once you head off to college? If you're not an active person, do you have plans to being an exercise routine or do you feel like exercise is a waist (pun/homonym intended) of time?

I ran cross country for three years but had to quit because I have scoliosis and it was too hard on my back. I can still run, just not as hard core as cross country, so I usually go for a job during the spring, fall, and summer. I have to do my physical therapy for my back every day. I also love to go hiking, my mom and I usually try to get out every weekend. Otherwise, I do not really have a daily plan for exercise.
ReplyDeleteI am a pretty active person for most of the year. I have been in track and cross country since seventh grade, so I run during those seasons and do some pre-season training as well. I usually take a month off after track and 2 (sometimes 3 due to the weather) after cross country. In college, I plan to stay active. Depending on the school I attend, I may run on their cross country team. I do not think that I want to do track, though. I would really like to join an intramural or club soccer team. I have always loved soccer, but there isn't a lot of interest in soccer at our school or others our size in the area. If neither of those plans work out for some reason, I will always continue to run and work out on my own. I feel much better in general if I am exercising and feel fit.
ReplyDeleteI love to excerise. I hate eating so much and sitting on the couch, I am a rather active person. I have done Phy. Ed. every year that I have been in high school. It makes me feel good about myself to excerise for 30mins a day five times a week!! I do a lot of walking and running outside of school. In college I plan to work out at least three times a week. At Winona they got a brand new and HUGE excerise rooms. Lots of new equipment. They also have an out door work out area but since Winona is in MN there will be tons of snow. So I will have the pleasure to work out inside and outside. Plus with college I will be walking (and probably running) to a lot of my classes. I trying out for the cheer team down there so hopefully I make it and will be motivated to work out even more if I make the team!
ReplyDeleteI am someone, who loves to just chill on the couch but a 'long' 2 mile run is awesome sometimes. I enjoy lifting ALOT. I like to lift at home on our bowflex, because people are jealous of how much I can lift when I lift in school ;) haha... but in college I plan on not gaining my 'freshman 15' and plan on finding a Hot guy to be my workout buddy ;)
ReplyDeleteI run a lot during the summer and riding horse is a great form of exercise, which most people don't realize. At least the kind of riding I do is good exercise, and it makes your core super strong. Plus I am doing a man's job by cleaning Westwind and hauling hay bales, bagged bedding, feed, and water. I ride almost everyday, even in the winter, and I go for long walks with my dogs and my dad at least a couple times a week. Exercise is a pretty big part of my life, but homework is the one thing that prevents me from being as active as I normally would. Also, my head situation prevented me from doing a lot of the physical activities I used to do, but for the most part, I am back to doing everything I would normally do, with only a few sporadic setbacks.
ReplyDeleteExercising is not an extremely important thing in my life. I do not go to the weight room at all, but I am kept pretty busy at home. However, I am not a couch potato, because I can't stand lying on a couch or in a chair all day. Although Homework is a never ending thing that occupies a vast quantity of my time. I am not really sure what I will do in college, since I do not necessarily fancy a weight room. Maybe I will run some, since the temperatures are warmer further south than they are up here.
ReplyDeleteWell I have a gym membership but between life and work yeah not much time to use it. I would like to start going to the gym back on my midnight schedule but Im just to worn out lately..
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy running once I get out there. It's getting away from whatever else I am doing that is the hard part. The adrenaline rush and great feeling that I have the4 rest of the day is super nice also. I am a pretty active person otherwise as well. Even on "lazy days" I'm still usually outside doing something because I can...I just don't really enjoy sitting doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteI have been in sports since third grade. I love exercise. I have had the winter off this year and I find it hard to get the motivation to go to the gym. I have been so busy with school, homework, scholarships, and work that when I have free time all I want to do is sleep or relax. When I do find the motivation to go to the gym, I always feel 10 times better. I feel exercise is a good stress reliever. Next year at college I would like to be on some intermural sports teams and stay active in the gym to lift. The freshman '15' is a big fear of mine! I stay pretty active though! I would like to get a weekly workout schedule started pretty soon here to train for track!
ReplyDeleteI am a very active person and I have always been this way. I exercise everyday because I am in a sport year-round. I love to work out. When I do not work out for like 2 days, I actually start to feel sick and gross. In college, I am going to work out a lot! I do not want to get fat or become really out of shape.
ReplyDeleteMost the time I am not very active because I do not have time. I really like excersing and I do plan on making it more of a routine when I'm out of high school and have a little more time on my hands. Living closer to a gym this summer will be more convenient and make it a lot easier to do so.
ReplyDeleteI am too lazy to exercise. In the summer I go for a walk or run every day because I like to be skinny but in the winter when we all wear baggy sweatshirts anyway, I dont work out. Its pretty much useless. I will be starting to work out more though because I need to be physically fit for my career. While in college, I plan to work out at least once a day.
ReplyDeleteI'm a very active person. I will continue being active in college since I'm going to play college football. You work very hard during a college season, but the hardest work is probably the offseason so I will be active year round.
ReplyDeleteI plan to stay active in college. I'm sure everyone says that going into college though. Honestly, I do not enjoy working out. It's such hard work and I'm probably not the most hard working person. But, I will try my best to stay active in college.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I promise that I haven't been able to blog until now. Every time that I tried, blogger would load and then disappear. But hey! I am here now :) I wouldn't really consider myself either lazy nor extremely active. Throughout the year I'm in dance. That takes up most of my time and contrary to what I am sure you all think, it isn't all that "sissy".
