In keeping with the idea of scary, do you like to be scared? What is your favorite scary movie? Do you like the psychological thrillers or the blood and gore variety? If you could write a scary movie, what would it be about?
P.S. Everyone did a GREAT job yesterday. I laughed at quite a few of them.

I like to be scared in some circumstances. I really, really hate the feeling of being scared when I am home alone at night and I hear noises outside. That's not okay. I sort of like being psychologically scared. I a lot of the things I would find "psychologically scary" aren't what others usually put into the psychological horror movie category. For example, I don't classify movies about crazy people who go on killing sprees as psychological thrillers because, in the end, they just come back to straight up violence. I was sort of scared during "A Beautiful Mind" because you slowly lost your connection with reality--and I found the idea of not knowing what existed and what didn't exist pretty terrifying. If I were to write a scary movie, it would definitely be about that subject--a man's increasingly alarming and inaccurate perception of the world. Violence wouldn't be the main theme, because that's more gross than scary.
ReplyDeleteDo I like to be scared... Of course not. But, I'm always scared of something; someone breaking in and no one to protect me, tanning beds because of final destination..3? I think that's the one... Or people leaving. I don't like to get close to anyone because people always leave. I've watched ammityville horror many times. Really the only scary movie I will watch, but I stopped watching it in 8th grade when I got notebooks for school and one said made in ammityville new York. Lol id have to say my life is like a scary movie, but funny too. Kinda like Scary Movie, the movies. I would never create a movie. Don't have the time and creativity to do something like that. Plus I HATE being scared.
ReplyDeleteI do not really enjoy the feeling of being scared. Except if its a funny joke. But I hate being by myself and hearing noises in the dark, then I hate being scared in general though. I liek Stephen King movies, it is more creepy than scary. Movies really do not scare me, just give me scary thoughts to make up in my head when I am walking in the dark. If I made a scary movie, it would not be all bloody and gory. It would be creepy in a Stephen King style.
ReplyDeleteI hate scary thins! I am one of the biggest chickens and get scared very easily, espicially if I am alone. I am not a fan of scary movies but every once and a while I do not mind watching them if I am with a bunch of friends.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching scary movies. I get super scared and im really jumpy and I make myself laugh. I also tend to talk to the people in the movie and get mad when they make stupid decisions. Like walking down a drafy hallway with noises at the end with only one candlestick. Dumb Dumb Dumb. I think blood and gore movies are funny just because they are so unrealistic. Like sombie movies theyre funny because theyre so fake.
ReplyDeleteI HATE being scared! I refuse to watch scary movies. I will watch them if I am in a big group because they're not as scary then but if it is with just a few people, I cry. Being scared is not my thing. I will have nightmares and I get scared to walk outside in the dark or in the basement alone. I do not mind blood and gore movies. I think they are a little funny actually. My favorite "scary" blood and gore movie is Final Destination. I refuse to watch the third one though becuase it is about amusement parks and I would probably never go on a roller coaster again if I watched it. My favorite one is the second one, except the end. A guy is grilling for his family and the propane tank blows up and his bloody arm lands on his moms plate. I wouldnt walk past our propane tank for a month.
ReplyDeleteI hate being scared. I actually get mad when people scary me just as a joke. I don't like any scary movies, but I go to them with my friends just to laugh at their reactions. I don't like blood and gore. The part that scares me most is the suspenseful music and some one jumps out. I don't think I could come up with a good scary movie because I would get too scared even writing it!
ReplyDeleteI love scary movies, but only the physcological thriller kinds...I hate gory movies like Saw. I cannote really think of any favorite scary movies, if I watch a scary movie once I do not usually watch them over and over because I know what is going to happen and it defeats the point. I am also a fan of excorsism movies too...I'm not sure why though, I guess I just find them interesting.
ReplyDeleteJust like 50% of the people on here, I HATE scary movies! People scare me so offen, and they do it too offen becuase my reaction is priceless I guess. Scary movies and I are not a good mix. If I were to write a scary movie, it would cut to a pony eating grass, then go back to the movie.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like scary movies. I think making people scared to go outside or go to sleep is not necessary, and all of the blood guts and gore is not something that people should ever need to see. Thrillers are interesting, but most scary movies have to plot other than killing for the sake of killing to make people scared.
ReplyDeleteI do not care all that much for scary movies. I prefer funny movies. I am not an excellent fan of the bloody, gory movies, and I do not care for the psychological thrillers either. Then again, I do not watch very many movies to begin with, but scary movies are not on the top of my list.
ReplyDeleteI dislike scary movies, especially the ones like Saw. They aren't even scary, they are just disturbing. It isn't a "thrill" to see someone get their eyeball torched. Depending on the situation, it is sometimes fun to experience the thrill of being scared. Obviously if its a life or death situation, I would rather go without having to be scared for that kind of reason.
ReplyDeleteI do not like scary movies very much because then I am unable to sleep and being alone gives me the creeps. Every once in awhile I like to watch one just to get that little chill. If I do watch a scary movie, I like to watch them with my friends because then they usually get scared too its all fun. I do not like watching them with Garrick because he hates scary movies and is a huge baby about them. He usually just sits there starring at the ground if we happen to watch one. I do not think I could make a scary movie because I just do not understand why and how people could come up with disgusting stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch scary movies all the time with my Grandma... It was sort of our "thing". I would spend the night at her house and we would watch countless scary movies. When I was little, I favorited any of the Jason movies. My Grandma owned basically of them so we watched them all the time :)
