It's the new year and many of us make resolutions and set goals. What are some things that you would like to accomplish this year? Within the next five years? Within the next ten? Let's discuss!
P.S. Personally, I decided that this year my goal will be to train for and run a half-marathon. I *think* that I'm going to run the Eau Claire half-marathon in May. Yikes!

Well I don't tend to make many resolutions unless I know for sure I can accomplish them. This year I made the goals of staying fit and healthy, and making it to state in track. Within the next five years I plan to be either finishing up college, or continuing on in college depending on what I want to major in because as of now I am unsure. I am not quite sure what I want to have accomplished in five years. I normally don't plan my life that far ahead. I guess if i had to pick something to have accomplished within ten years I would have to say that I want to be in a successful job which I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteMy new year's goal is to stay focused through the end of the school year (especially 3rd quarter and through basketball season.)
ReplyDeleteIn five years I hope to be successful in college and hopefully study abroad.
In ten years I hope to, like Hadra, start a successful career and possibly have a family. :)

Every year I make the same new year's resolution, and it is to stop cracking my fingers. I really do try but it is hard. That is the only goal that I made this year.
ReplyDeleteSince the next five years of my life will be spent in college, my goal is to work and study hard.
In ten years, like Jade and Danielle, I want to start a career.
I do not have a new years resolution. I never have, and never will.
ReplyDeleteFive years from now I would like to have finished school and be on my way to taking up a successful job that supports me and hopefully others.
Ten years from now I definately want a solid career that can sustain a family and that I can enjoy.
My resolution is to make this year the best one yet by making the most of every moment and having as much fun as possible! Oh and to keep my room clean.. haha!
ReplyDeleteThis year I want to go to state in Forensics, FBLA, and track. Then, in the summer or fall I want to run a race with Amanda! And I want to make new friends at college. :)
In five years, I would like to be graduated from college and starting my job. I want to keep running and run more races. Also, I want to keep in touch with all my high school and college friends.
In ten years, I want to be moving up in my career and maybe even have a family. That sounds so weird to say. Oh, and I definitely want to be living in my own house so I can have a cat!!
Like Casey, I don't make new year's resolutions. I think that if something is important enough, you shouldn't have to make a new year's resolution to achieve your goal. You should try everyday to acheive that goal, and if you fail, try again and again. Not just once a year! It's really annoying to hear people say, "I'm going to loose weight by not eating sweets this year," or something to that effect. Then, when January 2nd rolls around, they eat a piece of chocolate with out thinking and then just give up on their new goal. That's why I think new years resolutions are kind of dumb.
ReplyDeleteMy short term goals for the rest of the school year are to try harder in all my classes. I'm going to stop taking the easy way out of everything as I have been doing this entire year. I've even decided to drop College Prep Chemistry, where we do almost nothing, and take Social Problems. I'll probably fail at first, but I think I can acheive this goal and I won't just give up when I fail like if it were a new year's resolution. "I want to do everything the right way." -Some teacher at Colfax
In five years, I will hopefully (certainly) be graduated from Stout or the University of Minnesota with a degree in Engineering. Usually, people graduate in 4.5 years, so I'll hopefully be starting my career in five years.
In ten years, I definately want to be well set in my engineering career. I will then be able to support my family, which brings me to my next goal. Befor ten years from now, I want to be married and possibly have a kid. That's the extent of my ten year goals.
And I want to be in the NBA
ReplyDeleteNew Years Resolutions provide a great chance for individuals to change something in their lives. However, like McManhandler said, people shouldn't wait for a new year to make a change in their lives; just go for it. As far as my New Year's Resolution, I bet David ten bucks I'd only go on facebook once a week for one month. What's better than making money over a resolution?
ReplyDeleteIn five years I'm not sure what life will have in store for me. Hopefully, I'll be out of school on my way to a good job. Maybe marriage??????
Ten years from now I'll hopefully have started a family and started settling in.
Life oughta be good!
Oh, by the way: Hello from Indianapolis!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I want to be in the NBA
ReplyDeleteHello, Luke!
ReplyDeleteI, like Nathan and Kevin, do not make resolutions. I wouldn't follow them anyway. My short term goals are to stay fit and healthy, especially for before track, then go to state. As far as school goes, I want to fill out lots of scholarships and have fun the rest of the year. I then plan to settle in at UWRF with Dani:)
ReplyDeleteIn five years? Well, either i'll still be in college or freshly graduated, so I guess I want to find a good job somewhere.
In ten years I'll hopefully be settled down, and maybe be married...
And during all this time I want to stay active and keep running/working out. Maybe I will even have a pet donkey or something!
PS Mrs. Myers, you can totally run a half-marathon! You can do it!!!!
Oh, and hello Lucas! Hope you're having fun!
ReplyDeleteMy new years resoulutions is to stop procrastionating and get my homework done ahead of time. Also to not be late ever. I think I need to work on balancing my time better so this goal will be a challenge for me. :)
