Lessons

Of all the extra-curricular activities in which you participate, which one do you feel was the most fun? Which one do you feel was the most beneficial to your life? What, if any, lessons did you learn by being involved in extra-curricular activities? Would you advise underclassmen to take your extra-curricular?

  1. I believe that volleyball was the most fun of all of my extra-curricular activities. We did not like curcuits and I broke my nose a lot, but it was still a lot of fun. I believe that that was the most beneficial as well. Being disciplined makes all of life's rules easier. I think that everybody in high school should be in at least one extra-curricular acitvity. It doesn't matter if it is FBLA or a sport that you have to be dedicated to all year round. I wish that the schedules for eighth graders to fill out would push those activities.

  2. I think that "sports" in general were the most fun for me. I think that sports had a very good influence on my life. Sports taught me to work with people, and give 100 percent into everything. Also that if you work hard you are rewarded for it! I do think that everyone should be in a sport and it does not matter which kind, but it is just important to get involved in something. Extra curricular activities are very important, and I would strong encourage all underclassmen to take one!

  3. It's so hard to choose just one because I feel that all of them had something that helped me in some way. Dance, whether it was with a team or studio, is a way for me to exercise and express myself. Music has been a disciplinary throughout my life while also being extremely enjoyable. Other activites such as forensics and musicals allowed me to have fun in my own way. All of these activities, plus many more have shaped my entire high school experience! I would really advise underclassmen to experience as many activites as possible so they can pick and choose to see which ones fit best. It will make their high school experience that much more enjoyable!

  4. I agree with Kayla...I really can't choose. I have learn so much from. Sports have really been fun and have taught me to be on a team. Musical involvment has also been fun, and all the other activites and groups I have been in have really taught me about community service. I would definelty encourage underclassmen to be involved. Learining to work togehter and help others are both very important lessens. :)

  5. I agree with both Kayla and Danielle. It is really hard to pick just one activity that has influenced me in a positive way. I have learned a lot of different things from all of my extra-curriculars. Being on a team teaches you many things such as teamwork, positive attitudes, encouraging people and many other things. Being involved in the community and helping it in a positive way is another thing I have learned from being in a few of my after school extra-curriculars. I would highly advise the underclassmen to be in as many extra-curricular activities as they can handle because they help you to build charatcer and learn important life lessons.

  6. As far as fun, the extra curricullar activity that wins by far in my book is Basketball. Even though it isn't my biggest talent, I've had an inexpressable amount of fun playing basketball in the past four months. This year, Mr. Meade has also taught us a lot of life lessons, like the fact that life is difficult and it will suck at times, respect and honorability are far more important than winning, and stuff like that. Another important extra curricular in my life is FCA, along with truth project. It really helped me see both sides to life and has helped me to understand what I believe.

If I had to advise an underclassman on an extra curricular to take, it would be FCA or basketball.

  7. Well, if pep band and marching band count as extra curricullar activities then they are my favorite. I've always had a lot of fun with my friends and I like to go to parades. My favorite ones are when we go to the Minnesota State Fair and Valley Fair to march.
I really like being in FBLA, student council, NHS and Carebears. I feel like NHS has helped me understand how important community service is. I think that extra curriculars are great and everybody should join.

  8. I really enjoyed being a member of the band. Whether it was marching, concert, pep, or jazz, we were always traveling to different places. I also really enjoyed playing baseball. We always made it fun. Going to practice, playing a lot of games, and hanging out with friends made it even better. As far as group organizations, I really enjoyed being a part of the FCA. Each Thursday we met and had a bible study. It was a great way to start off the day. I think I can take something from each organization I belonged to. Whether it was through music, sports, or clubs in general, they all were benefical to my life. I'd tell underclassmen to just try being a member of a group. There's plenty of opportunitys out there. By the time high school's over, there should be no regrets.

  9. I like all of the extracirriculars that I'm involved in! But I really like track. I like the fact that practice is fun but disciplined, and I love the adrenaline that you get from the race. Band is also a really fun thing to be involved in. We have a variety of things to do, whether it be marching, jazz, school concerts, pep band, or homecoming shows. It's lots of fun for sure!
I would definately tell underclassmen to get involved with extracirriculars. Pick something that you love and go have some fun! You meet lots of friends and it's way better than sitting at home all the time.

  10. Baseball was the most fun extra-curricular activity to me. The sport is really layed back and can be really exciting sometimes.

Basketball was probably the most benificial to me because it taught me discipline, teamwork, and was hard cardiovascularly.

My extracurricular was very benificial to me and I highly advise it to underclassmen.

  11. i think sports kept me having fun throughout high school. I also think they were the most beneficial to me also because like sammy said it gives you disipline and makes you give 100% in everything else you do. I would tell anyone to be in any sport because it gives you the push and drive you need to succeed in life and it gives you a chance to have some fun while in school!

  12. I think that the most fun and beneficial for me has been the musical. From the very beginning, it's something that is fun to participate in. Even though some nights (choreography nights!) can get long, I still enjoy it. I think that it's taught me a lot about confidence because it takes a lot of confidence to stand up in front of so many people and sing and dance. Also, it's taught me about working well with large groups of people. I think that's an important skill, because it can get frusterating working with so many people, especially when they're goofing off!
