According to an anonymous quote, "The worst television programs are the ones not quite bad enough to switch off." What t.v. shows do you just have to watch each week? What shows do you watch, but are embarrassed to admit that you actually watch them? Or, do you choose to avoid television all together? If so, what do you choose to fill your free time?
Personally, I make it a point to watch only one show each week, and that's "The Office." My guilty pleasure would have to be Dr. Drew's "Celebrity Rehab" (if/when I think to catch it). Mainly, though, I try to fill my free time with reading. There are so many books that I want to read and so little time available to read, that I feel like I'm cheating myself if I waste time watching t.v.

I have two shows that I hate to miss. They are The Vampire Diaries and Grey's Anatomy. Other than those two shows, I don't really care to watch much t.v. Oh yeah, I did watch most of the Bachelor this season, but I normally don't really care for that sort of thing. I was kind of embarassed for liking The Vampire Diaries so much, but I've gotten over that. I'm not quite sure why vampires are so intersting, but I just can't get enough.
ReplyDeleteOther than those two shows, I don't spend too much time watching t.v. I don't have a lot of time to sit around and I don't like a lot of shows. I spend a lot of time reading. I finished Rebecca a couple of days ago and I will say that it was one of the best books I have ever read. I recommend it to everone.
I would have to watch "One Tree Hill" every week. The last episode was last week until the end of April and then there are only four episodes left EVER!!! It makes me sad because I love watching that show. I don't like to admit that I watch "The Office," but lately I have to watch it every night before I go bed. So I guess I am getting away from being embarrassed by watching that show. I do not avoid the tv because there are always shows that are educational, even though they could be an overall bad show. I get bored watching tv for long periods of time, so I go on the computer or go outside, either snowmobiling or just relaxing outside. I do not enjoy reading, so I do not read on my free time. When I have to read a book, I make my homework time longer and fill it by reading the book. I probably should not tell you that I do not like reading, but it is the truth.
ReplyDeleteI have many different favorite shows. Most of the shows on the hunting channel are good to me. I also enjoy watching ESPN. I feel kind of guilty when I watch Spongebob because I am eighteen years old and that probably sounds really wierd. But I look at it as though I have to stay in touch with my inner child.
ReplyDeleteFor me, watching T.V. is a good way of relaxing. After a long day of school and basketball practice, it is nice to sit and watch entertaining things. The weekend is a little different. On most weekends, I spent the majority of my time outside where I am meant to be.
Well,
ReplyDeleteI like lots of TLC shows, especially Say Yes to the Dress. I also like ABC family on Monday nights, but I don't usually have time to watch a lot of t.v. My new guilty pleasure is "The Buried Life." I think it is really meaningful, but funny at the same time. I'd say that I watch a lot of t.v., but I dont' actually watch it. I am usually doing something and then I have t.v. on for background noise and so it isn't dead quiet.

Um, well the one show that I have to watch every week is The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Also, when I get home after school if I don't have a sport to stay after for I usually watch Gilmore Girls with my mom. Other than that normally I don't have any time to watch television because I have too many other things to do. Normally in my free time, I hang out with friends and go to random places at random times of the day. I like to go on adventures with friends and go out and do fun things rather than sitting home wasting away watching t.v. Oh and the one t.v. show I am sort of embarassed to say I watch is that sometimes if an older cartoon is on, like rugrats, I will watch it because I liked those older cartoons. =)
ReplyDeletei have to watch secret life of an american teenager each week! I cannot miss an episode and another show i have to watch everyday is Days of Our Lives. It is the best soap opera ever. I can honestly say i still like watching cartoons every once in a while. idk who doesn't though! I also can't miss House that show is pretty much the best show ever created. I am going to go buy the season tonight!!!!! Im not really embarrassed about any shows that i watch , because like it or not everyone still watches cartoons every once in a while and other silly shows.
ReplyDeleteLately, the Winter Olympics were my #1 show I watched the past two weeks. Considering they only come around every four years, I really make it a point to watch them as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Olympics aren't on, I like watching Castle and the Office. There's not too many shows I can say I'd be embarrassed to admit I watch, but every so often I turn on the Saturday morning cartoons while I sleep in ;)
I guess I try to avoid indulging in television shows. If there is nothing to do, I will then reluctantly turn on the T.V. and get sucked into shows such as the Winter Olympics. The Winter Games have consumed much of my crippled time since I can't really do anything else.
ReplyDeleteTwo shows that I would enjoy watching (not including football or basketball games) is 'That 70's Show' and 'Seinfeld'. "I'm very dangerous Jerry, VERY DANGEROUS!"
I am now going to let all of you in on a little secret...
ReplyDeleteSometimes I will call Luke on a Saturday morning and listen to him talk about how much he enjoys watching Hannah Montana!
Haha... Hannah Montana :P
ReplyDeleteAActually I do watch the Disney Channel sometimes. Mostly because Trevor is around... But some of those shows aren't that bad...:)
I like the shows on TLC, like Say Yes to the Dress and Cake Boss. Sometimes I watch random shows like America's Best Dance Crew and weird cooking shows that make me hungry. Mind you, this is in the limited time I have for TV. The only thing I tried not to miss was the Olympics. Otherwise I just see what's on if I have a bit of free time.
I love watching What Not to Wear on TLC. I also can not miss The Bachelor or Bachelorette. It is my favorite. I also can't miss Oprah or Rachel Ray. They are my favorite talk shows and I can't miss them. American Idol also is a great t.v. show in my opinion. If I'm not watching t.v. I'm either hanging out with my friends and family or doing homework! YAY!!!

My mom and I have our Sunday night t.v. night. Liz has dance on Sundays so it's usually just my mom and I at home, so we veg out and watch t.v. However, we don't really watch Desperate Housewives or Brothers and Sisters because we are both asleep :D My mom and I do not by any means have the ability to stay up late. I watch grey's anatomy occassionaly but I usually miss it because I'm busy. I'll admit I watched some of The Bachelor this year, but only because it's funny because it's fake in some ways. I really enjoy watching the pbs create channel when I'm doing homework, but other than that I don't really enjoy watching t.v. because I would rather be doing something else like talking to someone or baking.
ReplyDeleteI will admitt I watch a lot of TV, but my favorite would have to say is Gossip Girl. I love Blake Lively. I really hate to admitt that I watch 16 and pregnant. It sounds really ridiculous but it acctually is a pretty good show! I like watching Tv, but I do watch way to much!
ReplyDeleteEvery week I MUST watch greys anatomy and private practice unfortuantly those shows are on during the office. But luckily, the internet allows me to watch whatever shows i missed! :) Hooray for technology! T.V. is relaxing for me. i dont know why but its a stress reliever for me so i do enjoy watching it quite often...which may be a bad ting! haha oh well!
ReplyDeleteI don't ever watch tv during the week because I have absolutely no time!! If I'm not at school, I'm at practice or else hanging out with my friends. And to me it is more important to spend time with them than to watch tv. But I do record a few shows that I usually watch sometime during the weekend. I always watch The Biggest Loser, but I think a lot of it's boring. So I always fast forward to the end. :) I also like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Private Practice. The show that I'm embarrassed to say I watch is 16 and pregnant.. I don't watch it a lot, but it is actually pretty entertaining.
