Good morning, everyone! Welcome to your last week of high school :*-) This is such a bittersweet time of the year for me. While I'm so proud of you that you're graduating and moving on, I'm going to miss each and every one of you like crazy.
Thank you for going on this experience with me called college prep. I hope that you learned some new ideas and skills and honed those that you already had. It's been pure pleasure for me to have had you as students. Right now I'm a "happy little English teacher."
Today's journal: Free write. Enjoy your last week!

Hm well I didn't really do much this weekend. On friday I watched the boys baseball game, and than after the baseball game I went to Aaron Logslett's house to go see his little lab puppies. They were all so cute and chubby and I wanted to take one home! =) On Saturday, I didn't do much of anything I cleaned up around the house and tried to study for my pre. calc. final that is this week tuesday and wednesday. After that I pretty much slept most of the weekend, and I still have to clean up my messy room before this Saturday. =( I am kind of excited to graduate and at the same time I am not. I am definately going to miss seeing everyone everyday like right now. Other than that I guess I am excited to go on and see what life is like out in the real world outside of high school.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. I am excited to graduate, but at the same time is it so sad. Everyone keeps saying that this is our last ..(ex: monday, friday).
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I went shopping and got my graduation dress. I had CPR at 7 am on Sunday morning with Mr. Secraw. I thought that it was pretty fun and I learned a lot. I liked learning how to used the AED. I also got to clean a lot this weekend, which was not so fun.
This weekend was crazy for me with trying to pull things together for graduation! On Friday, we went with my Aunt Jo to a breast cancer bridal sale because she is getting married this summer. All of the dresses were donated and all proceeds went to help fight breast cancer, so it was a great cause! On Saturday, my mom and I were in the gardens working from about noon until 7! I'm so sore, who knew gardening could be a work-out?! On Sunday, my mom and I went shopping to get all of the odds and ends that we haven't gotten yet. Then when we got home, I baked many desserts and froze them so it will be all ready on Saturday! I finally had to brainstorm and write a welcome speech for graduation, and I did it!!! I then of course worked on my paper for you(Mrs. Myers) Busy, exciting, bittersweet week coming up!
ReplyDeleteWow...Hadra started her blog with Hm...who would have guessed.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend was busy. I went to Luther Park for a staff retreat on Friday, then I volunteered at thte Pancake Breakfast Fundrasier, then I swithc groups, but stayed at Luther Park. Youth Group aka Amanda R., David C., Brittany R., Greg c., Sara S. and Baily F. all came up to Luther Park and we cleaned teh chapl up there. Then, we made some awesome t-shirts and sang lots of fun camp fire, VBS songs. That was my favorite part (imagine that!). On Sunday I worked on my paper adn then wrote some thank yous for scholarships. (and worked on my surprise for Mrs. Myers....OOOOOO!
I think the only way to describe what I am feeling right now is BITTERSWEET...I am glad to be moving on to new adventures, but I am sad that I will be leaving this awesoem place filed with so many great people...I;m really gonna miss you guys! Once a Colfaxian(or Viking, but then that sounds like MN and that is not that case here) always a Colfaxian!
Alright, well this is going to be one heck of a week. I have three baseball games, a baccalaureate service, and oh yeah... a graduation Friday =) I think the weirdest adjustment will be going from go go go, rush rush rush, to nothing.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend was pretty good. I applied at a few restaurants in the valley. I'm hoping something will turn up =) I also went to a few of my friend's graduation parties. Other than that, I just worked on homework and school stuff. It was a good weekend.
This is so sad - it is finally here...our last week of high school. I feel like it came so fast, but I'm too busy to really think about it and cry. It will hit me soon.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I went to Luther Park with my youth group which was awesome. We made sweet shirts, caught some crappies, sang some songs with the guitar, and ate some late night pizza. On sunday I had church nad then CPR. Then I went home and slaved over the computer while eating food.
This week is conference for track, Baccalaureate, and graduation!
It's the week of lasts!
This is going to be one crazy week. I have a woods project that needs to be finished by the end of graduation or I owe Mr. Maas, Mr. Dachel, and Mr. Bucholtz ten gatorades each. that is going to cut into my tuition if i can't come up with some extra change. This weekend, i watched Wall Street as an extra credit opprotunity for Mr. Meade. I was an okay movie, but i ultimately needed Nathan theere so the money aspect of the movie wouldn't have been so complicated.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Myers, I am very happy that you are a "happy little English teacher". I have had a blast this year in C.P. English. I felt very privilaged to be around everyone in there, because you are all so smart and hopefully that has rubbed off on me a little. I have also definately learned a lot since there was such a small class. It was easier for me to focus, even though it did not look like it sometimes!
ReplyDeleteThis is actually very sad to be writing our last journal blog. I feel like I don't want to leave high school yet. I feel unsure about a lot of things in my life right now, and I feel like I need more guidance from my teachers and peers. I will miss school and all of the people that I could actually trust. It will be hard toward the end of the week because some of those people I will never see again. :) Mrs. Myers, I think I am going to miss you the most out of all of my teachers at Colfax because you always made it fun. Even though some of our reading assignments were a bit hard to understand, you always helped us out and made us feel confident in whatever we needed help in. I will be back though. You are not getting rid of me. I only live a little ways out of town, so I will visit next year A LOT!!!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend was really good for me! I went swimming for the first time this year and it was really really cold! It was soo nice out all weekend, I love the nice weather! :) And now my last week of high school is going by so fast! It is crazzy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I never thought the day would come when we are graduating! yay! But this does make me a little sad that I am leaving, but I am excited to move ahead with my life.
