What did you learn from presenting and observing the author projects? If you could redo your project, what would you do differently? What struggles did you face? What did you find fun? Discuss!
I learned that some authors are pretty crazy. Some are pretty boring and some are pretty interesting. I liked how each person had a different way in presenting their projects. If I could redo my project I think I would have made my own Winnie-the-Pooh movie just like Heather made her own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. I thought that was pretty sweet. I didn't really face any struggles other than the fact of feeling like I didn't have enough information. I found it fun to research my author because it made me feel like a kid again going back and learning about Winnie-the-Pooh. =)
I really enjoyed the author projects. If I could redo my project, I think I would have tried to make it more fun with the homework, and not do a workd search because "everyone" did a word search. Also, I would have think to show a movie clip, but am not computer savvey enough to do that. My "struggles" would just include worring about making it enough time.
I really like doing the author project and I really enjoyed learnig about all the different authors. If I could redo some stuff, I would have tried to include more and talk slower because I obviously did poorly making the time thing. I think I also would have put in a movie clip cause adding them makes it a lot easier to understand what you are explaining. I worried about making the time and not getting nervous. But overall I really liked the project!
I HATE BLOGGING!!! This website drives me crazy! Now I will write what I just wrote. GRRRRR>>>>>> ok. Well, it was a lot easier doing this the second time because I was really nervous doing the philosophy projects. I would want mine to be more interactive with the students. I would like to do an activity with the class or something so they don't think I am boring. I would like to have notes to be able to talk about things that are not on the slides because it got kind of ridiculous listening to things that were just on the board. I want to be able to go up in the front of the class and be able to just start talking off of the top of my head. THIS IS OUR LAST FRIDAY BLOG!!! It will be different not going on here though. Maybe we should talk to each other though this over the summer to stay in touch.
It is always fun to learn about the lives of people who are famous. I realize although that they are definately not any more special than us regular people. Especially when you hear about them committing suicide and doing all sorts of dumb acts. There are also a lot of good attributes to some of their names. Yep, a person can learn a lot about an author by just typing in their name on google. I would probably make mine more factual on account of why he wrote the book when he did and why he did.
Well I thought the author project was pretty cool. It was interesting.. I guess when i read a book, I don't really think about what the person who wrote it is like. So it was good to learn about all different kinds of authors.. The children authors, the action/women loving authors, and the suicidal authors. If I could redo my project I would probably try to find more info on Milne's other works and not just Winnie-the-Pooh. And I would add a video clip of the good ol' Hundred Acre Wood in there too. The only thing I had a problem with is staying focused enough to finish the project! :P
P.S. it would be fine with me if we blogged sporatically over the summer. I'm gonna miss everyone!!!
I loved the author projects because it was very interesting! I liked seeing all of the different ways that people presented their projects too. I especially liked researching my great uncle to get to know more about his past. I never knew the in-depth history about him as much as I should have, so it was an excellent opportunity to learn that information! If I could re-do my author project, I would slow down my words a little bit more, bring in some of our signed copies/newspaper articles, and (if I could think of any) a more fun and interactive way to teach my author. Other than that I loved it!!
I learned that it is a lot of work to make up a lesson plan. We had two weeks to make up one 15 minute lesson, and I'm pretty sure that real teachers don't take that long to make lesson plans. If I could redo it, I would pick an author that I didn't know anything about. It would have made it a lot more interesting. I also would have made more slides for my powerpoint presentation. I had a lot grouped together on one slide and it made it harder on me to talk about it. I really liked using that smart board. That thing is awesome!
