Assignments. Scholarship applications. Papers. College applications. Job. Family. Homework. Friends. End of the quarter. Ahhh! The pressure. How do you cope with stress? Do you feel that you handle stress well? What are some stress-relieving activities in which you participate? Discuss!

  1. I don't really get stressed out by homework often, but when I do I get really frustrated. I mostly get stressed out about not having time to do everything I have to get done, not just homework, especially since I have been working on my college application alot. On the times I do get stressed out I feel like I don't handle it well. I don't really have any stress-releiving activities besides sleeping or watching t.v.

  2. Yes, at times my life can be sressful to the max, but I always get through it. Sometimes its not easy, but when things get stressful I just need to relax a little and take things one at a time instead of looking at the tasks as a group. I handle stress by playing basketball. When i am done playing basketball I focus and get things done. Basketball is a huge stresss reliever for me. Or doing any type of exercise relieves me from stress.

  3. I think I handle stress pretty well. I get frustrated and freak out for a second or two, but then I just make myself a list of all the homework or stuff I have to do and I start doing it. As I get them accomplished, I cross them off. My stress reliever is probably exercising or sleeping. They take my mind off things.

  4. I'm always under stress, so I'm always freaking out about things that need to get done, school, work, college, homework, etc. I don't really have a stress reliever, but when I get realllly stressed out, I scream in a pillow and count backwards from on hundred. Sometimes it helps, but when I get to zero, I feel as though it happened all over again. My stress affects my sleep a lot. When I go to bed at ten, I don't fall asleep until one or two in the morning. Insomnia is another stress induced problem. Last year in October, I was visiting my dad and grandma. My dad was stressing me out a lot. I went to bed and couldn't sleep. When I finally fell asleep, I kept waking up. The next morning, I woke up and found two itchy spots on my arm. Turns out they were hives. They spread all over my body. So now if I get really stressed out, I have to try to calm myself down so I can even attempt to sleep and so I don't get hives. ):

  5. Well I never really get stressed out about homework. Its something I've never got to worked up about. I always seem to find a time to get it done. But sometimes it does seem like theres not enough time in the day. I have schoolt then work and then I want to go and hang out with friends. By the time I get home its time to go to bed, but there's always something that I should have gotten done like chores or applying for some scholorship or something that I totally forgot about. And I always think of these things right after I layed down to go to sleep. When I get stressed out I usually just walk away from whatever was going on and everything works itself out.

  6. Wow this is the perfect topic for this week! It's the end of the quarter and I have tests on Friday in English, Social Problems, and Pre-calc. I also have to complete a scholarship and complete an application. I tried to fax some stuff to a school this morning, and it didn't work, so now I don't know what to do. And even though cross country is over, I am still training for the Footlocker race, which is right after Thanksgiving. And this weekend and next weekend I will be gone on college visits so that swallows up my whole weekend. Also, both of the schools are six and a half hours away and I don't know what to expect. But anyway, I usually deal with stress by running really hard or doing something else that is purely physical. It helps I think. :) The end.

  7. Yeah i get overwelmed with everything thats going on so fast. I like to read my books they take my mind off things and thinking about other things in my life. I also like to go bowling because it just relaxs me and lets me have a good time without stress at all. Other than sleep itself i don't really no of anything else that can help me. I just normally deal with it and get everything done once that happens you feel better becuase theres nothing to worry about anymore. This week things are not actually that bad but nest week i have a feeling its going to be tough.

  8. I don't cope with the stress. I feel like I have zero time to do homework, let alone scholarship applications. I am finished with my college applications, so now I just have to be able to pay to go to school. I have no time to read, and friends are just going to have to wait until I'm finished with homework. I am constantly writing lists of things that I need to do, and trying to make time for all of my homework.

  9. Yeah well I was feeling pretty good about tonight, not too worried about stuff until I got on here and was reminded of how stressed I really am. I too make lists and try to accomplish everything on them...that doesnt always work. My college apps are what is really killing me. I have to write so many darn essays and not to mention put together a particular and detailed photography portfolio. yikes! I have until january 1st though to get it all done. My plan is over Thanksgiving break to really work on my college app stuff.

  10. I handle stress preettyyy good. I tend to freak out if I'm really stressing but then calm myself down by cleaning or exercising. I'm not too stressed right now but some days when I am my family doesn't want anything to do with me. I get kind of grouchy. :/ I'm a little nervous about the English quest and the essay we have to write next week, but I'll get through it. I'm not too stressed with college right now because I got accepted to St. Mary's today and recieved a big scholarship from them so, now I am all set for the school I'm going to! :) Now I just have to fill out other scholarships, and visit St. Mary's. :)

  11. I think I can deal with stress pretty well. When it comes to having so much to do in such little time, I try to get as much work done whenever possible. However it still seems that I am kept up alot, trying to finish everything that is assigned. I try to think about how I will be done with the work and I will be free again to do whatever I like. To help comfort all the stress, I try to make the work as fun and easy as possible. One thing is, I always have music to listen and sing along to so it is not so quiet and boring. I have a delicious snack every now and then, and I take a few short breaks in between subjects. Even though we have alot of work, I think we will make it through the year quite nicely. I think if you enjoy your classes and look on the bright side of things, school and everything else is just a breeze.

  12. I think that I handle stress pretty well. There are definitely times that I can’t handle everything that is thrown at me, but I do my best to accomplish everything that I have to do. After being stressed out for a long period of time, it is just a relief getting everything done and not having to worry about to study for hard tests, write huge papers, and deal with everything that comes in between … only to be stressed out again a few days or hours later. To relax myself from a stressful day, I either read, listen to music, or just run around outside (when it isn’t freezing, at least). Sometimes doing those things help calm the stress down at little, but often times it doesn’t work at all when I realize just how much I have to do.

  13. Since I'm a procrastinator, the stress hits me in the end. It's like the world is trying to suffocate me. All the homework just piles up and then the piles just tip over. I don't think I really do anything to relieve stress. Reading kind of puts me into a happier mood, but then you get those people who distrub your reading and then you just can't concentrate on the book.

  14. Stress seems like it will always catch up to you no matter how hard you try to stay ahead. I just try to make sure I stay somewhat relaxed at the time. I know I'm going to get frustrated and mad, but if I can keep myself somewhat calm I know I will do just fine. It is a good learning experience for the life ahead of us. SO I'd rather learn how to handle it in different ways now then to wait till I am in college and not have a clue on what to do.

  15. I've decided to put all the college stuff off for a while. Applying right now isn't my first priority because I don't have a clue where or what I wanna be. I'll figure it out though. The only thing I am stressed out with grades is that I have so many F's for blogging. Even though I blogged every single one, I am assuming I have points off because they weren't done on the next day? I'm not really sure. I really can't get on the internet everyday though so it's a struggle.

I'm also stressed because I don't know where I belong.

I'm coping with it by ignoring and pushing my feelings away. I'll deal with them later.

  16. I don't really get stressed. I just don't let's things get to me. I let whatever happen. If something bad happens it is my fault. When I have a lot of things to do, I just work really fast.
