You have been put in charge of building a time capsule. This capsule will be opened 500 years from now. What items are you going to place within in this capsule? Think about such things as: what items are important to us? how do we communicate? who are our leaders/idols? etc.
I would put a the obama newsweek magazine from when he first got elected, an issue of the oprah magazine because she is so powerful, a dollar bill, a hostess twinkie, mcdonalds bag and/or happy meal, a cell phone, a popular book, and a laptop computer.

and not only would I put new and inventive things, but also things like conflicts, wars, and other tragedies so the future can learn from past mistakes.
I would probably put fake newspapers in there, to play a joke on the future. I think that would be super super super funny. Also I would make a collage of our newest technologies so they can laugh at it and compare it to the future's technology. I would also like to put pictures of myself and those closest to me, and a dairy...so maybe I could become famous like Ann Frank.

I would put in a cell phone and a upod for sure so that they can see what we used back in this time. I'd also put in a raidio and cd's to show them what kind of music we had. I would put pictures of myself and my family so they would know who i was as well. I mean i could always put in a file on the presidents and things like that but in the future i'm sure they'll already have it documented.

I'd try to put in a bunch of random things so that the people who open it up can get an idea of what life is like for us today.
Here is what I would put in:

AND THATS IT!!!
I would put in a cell phone, iPhone, some fashion magazine (because that is definitely going to change in 500 years), a few books, a bunch of random pictures, a journal, portraits of recent presidents, a pair of shoes, and … yeah. Anything that would characterize our world during this time in a positive way would go in there pretty much.
