Wednesday

Today is the 30th anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon. (PLEASE tell me that you know who John Lennon was! Beatles...) He not only was an amazing musician, he was a political activist, humanitarian, husband, and father. The song most associated with him is "Imagine."

"Imagine all the people, living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope one day you can join us, and the world can live as one..."

I know this is a little morbid, but if you could bring back one person from the great beyond, who would it be? Why?

  1. I honestly do not know a lot about John Lennon, other than that he was part of the Beetles.

I would have to bring back King Arthur. Don't ask me why, I think it would be cool to be in his presence during a battle, or war, so I could see what his actions, or remarks were like. Again, I do not know why I would pick him, random I guess.

  2. I'd bring back my grandpa. If he could come back I would make sure he wouldn't get cancer again. I hate cancer.

My grandpa was an amazing person. We always did so much with him and it was weird doing those things this year. Like after deer hunting he would always come over and help us cut up meat, but this year we had to do it ourselves. It was weird not seeing him sit in his rocking chair, talking about his childhood at Thanksgiving too. There was no one there either to tell me to stop eating all the cookies. :)
I really wish I could bring him back.

  3. I don't really care for the Beatles. I guess you have to be into that time period to like the Beatles.

I would definitely have to bring back my grandpa. He was my rock. I could go to him with any problem and he would help me with anything and everything I needed. It's been almost eight years since he's passed, and everyday I get a little stronger than I was the day before. My grandpa was a great person. Honestly, I don't know where I would be if I wouldn't have met him or if he wasn't in my life. He taught me how to read when I was three and how to write when I was four. He would watch me after school. When I would go to my mom's for the weekend, I'd come home to a big dinner that he made especially for me. I wonder everyday what my life would be like if I still had my grandpa with me. He supported me in everything I did. He was my number one fan. I know that he's looking down on me from Heaven. He's my guardian angel. I talk to him every night before I go to bed and every morning when I wake up. Even though he's not here in person, I know he's here in spirit. I miss him dearly, and I wish I could bring him back.

  4. I totally knew that was today! I’m not much of a Beatles person, to be honest, but I know a few things about the band and its members. So … yeah. And “Imagine” has been in my head all day since I read today’s blog topic this morning.

Hmm. I’m not sure who I’d want to being back. Would they even want to be brought back? … Anyway, I’d probably choose Edgar Allan Poe if I had to bring someone back. I would want to bring Poe back to see what he was like and everything. I would want to know what inspired him to write.

  5. Yeah yeah, I'm sure Lennon was amazing and all.

But if I could bring one person to life, I would bring the Mad Hatter (from Alice and Wonderland) to life. We had a similar topic for blogging before (about what dead person we'd wanna have lunch with). I just think he's amazing and we think a lot alike. I love him and I always will. He's so spontanious and crazy looking. I could stare at him for days and his facial expressions are thrilling.

  6. If I could bring back one person, it would have to be my cousin. She was six when she died of luekemia, and her life was so short and full of pain. I would bring her back healthy (if I could) and let her grow up to be happy.
If not her, I would bring back my grandma Nehring. She died from breast cancer and I never got to know her. So anyway, The End.

  7. In my art history class we've been talking about Leonardo da Vinci and how truely genius he was. He planned out urban development that would have stopped the plague from killing so many and as a weapons designer created things that came hundreds of years later. While we think of him as a brilliant painter, we never hear about his drawings of military tanks, and his scuba- like designs. He just seems like he would be a really interesting person to meet.

  8. If I could bring anyone back, I'd bring back my friend Amanda. She died this last summer in a car accident. I wasn't as good as friends with her as my sister was, and I only knew her for about a year, but in that short amount of time I knew her, it felt like I had known her forever. She was so easy to get along with. She was so funny and so incredibly nice. She was religious and really cared for people. She was also a great friend. She had many, many friends. Not everyone could get in the church for her funeral was how many friends she had. She was only 19 when she died. I am so blessed for having known her, even if it was for that little amount of time. I wouldn't bring back Amanda for myself, even though I would love to have a friend like her again, but I would bring her back for her family. I see them suffering, especially around the holidays. It has to be so hard.
I will never forget the last time I saw Amanda and the big hug she gave me. We were at Country Fest when we found out about the accident, and she was suppose to be there with us but couldn’t afford to go. I am sad that she is gone, but happy that I got to know her.

If I was suppose to write about a famous person I would like to bring back, it would be Mother Teresa. I would bring her back because she was an incredible women and I would have really liked to know her. I would also bring back my great grandma Olson. I never got to meet her, but what I hear about her she seemed like an extraodinary women.

  9. I do not know much about him, only that he was a very good musician and was with the Beatles.

If I had to choose someone to bring back, I think I would bring back JFK. He sounded like an amazing president that everyone liked. He cared very much about the people of America and others around the world. I think we would have a very different country, and the world would be more peaceful and allot less people would be hungry, or not have jobs. His inspiration would help all to see that we need to get along and help one another, or we will be fighting for all time. JFK would create a great new path for everyone to follow.

  11. If I could bring anybody back, it would be my grandpa. He died five years ago. He was pretty much like another dad for me. He lived in the same city as us when we lived in Colorado. When I was really little and my parents were at work, he was the one who watched me so it was pretty much me and him all day, five days a week. When they moved to the twin cities, we moved to Wisconsin so we would still be kind of close to them and the rest of our family. He was awesome and a great person. When he was younger, like when my mom was a kid, they had a lot of money. But instead of just spending it, he donated a ton of it help people out. And anytime anyone would ask for help, he would write a check for whatever they needed. He would forsure be the person I would want to bring back.

  12. If I could bring back anyone ,it would have to be my grandpa. He was a man full of compassion and just love for his family. His smile is one I will never forget. He would just light up on christmas when he would see all of his grandchildren with his kids in one househould. He died a long and painful death of prostate cancer a little over three years ago. He did not deserve any of the pain he had gone through.
Someday, I hope to see him and that big smile of his once again.

There are two other people I cannot go without mentioning. My two brothers than my mom ended up having miscarriages with. I really wish I could have seen them grow up. I've never paid so much attention to watching a little kid grow up as much as I have my little brother Tony. Its hard to think one would have been in in 1st grade and the other already walking. I am going to miss all three very much this christmas, just like every other year. I just hope someday the whole family will be back together. As of right now,I can only pray this will come true.
