Tuesday

Poetry day. Why? Because I can. :-)

Today's poem is a free write poem. You may write a poem about whatever you like: kittens, the weather, how much you hate poetry, etc. It's up to you.

Enjoy!

  1. My life is a train, and you are the track.
I run over you, and it hurts to look back
so I don't, what I see is not fit to be told,
I've torn up your heart, your devotion of gold.

Your body of love lies open and frayed
on this path I am running, my destiny strayed.
You are the breath of my life, without you I am still
yet I use you, abuse you, I'm out for the kill.

I'm sorry my train has been running so fast
but I rust when I stay and I rot in the past.
If I were the tracks, and you were the train,
I doubt you would put me through heartache or pain.

If you don't understand me, it's no fault of yours,
but know that I tried to avoid this cold war.
Our war is not fair, it's quite simple and plain
that the tracks always perish, the victor's the train.

The worst thing about this freedom of choice
is that with every inch, I must hear your voice.
I can't run on without you, yet I don't want you here
and this mixture of love is something to fear.

Why is it you stay? you can leave anytime.
You can forge your own path, you can leave me behind.
You can split right in two, make me idle and burn,
make me learn the same lessons I forced you to learn

That everything lives, but life is not fair.
That I love you too much and too little to care.
That some people are tracks and some people are trains.
That it may be yourself who causes your pain.

  2. Cold
    it is so cold
    the wind whips the coats
    thin and ragged
    bitter
    the wind is bitter
    and bites at fingers
    under gloves
    summer
    when is it summer
    playing in the water
    no shoes on
    waiting
    we are waiting
for the last bell to ring

  3. Roses are red.
    Violets are blue.
    I hate poem days.
The rest of the class does too.

  4. Red is the color of a bright ripe apple
Orange is a word that has no ryhme
Yellow is a caterpiller crawling on a leaf
Green is the the ocean and its reef
Blue is the species of a beautiful pine
Purple is a grape growing on a vine

All these colors form up in the sky to be seen
And some times in doubles,Oh what does it mean?!

  5. Food
    I love you so much
You comfort me when I'm sad
    and when I'm bored
I also have a fear of you
Because you could make me fat

    77 days till graduation!! :)

  6. I like having feelings for someone.
like theres someone out there always thinking about you,
keeping you warmly in the back of their thoughts,
    Always thinking about them,
always wanting to see them or talk about them,
It's like their name is floating around in my mind, and every little thing reminds me of them,
I think of them when I go to bed and when I wake up,
this can be distracting, but can also be motivating,
they motivate me to try my hardest,
and to be the best version of me!
Having strong feelings is an incredible thing,
    its like and obsession.
    or love.

  7. Take a breath, see your dreams
live your life, but hold your own key
Find a new world, explore new seas
But never lose, your own identity

  8. There is only 3 episodes left of you.
My life won't be complete when you are done,
but I'll have to make it through,
    and perhaps find something new.
    What am I to do
    on my Wednesday nights?
I might have to take up Kong Fu,
    so I can win fights
    on whoever talks dirty of
the great show of Friday Night Lights.

    haha...I like Teren's poem!

  9. Life is a confusing trip
You never know which barricades you will have to cross
    Which people you will meet
What choices you will have to make
And you never know how your trip is going to end,
How long you will be away.
Take a deep breath and make this trip unforgettable,
Because you don’t get more than one chance.

  10. The sea is black with fury,
    It’s a seal you can’t break.
I want to feel it all,
But it’s just too much to take,
    When you’re gone.

    And here I sit,
    Looking out the window,
    The sea rushed in,
    Took you under,
    And took the life,
    From your fingers.

    The waves crashed in,
    They way they crash,
    Every day
I want to hold the hand,
    The only hand,
    I held,
    Yesterday.

Now the spiders weave their webs
    Where you laid.
    And I left you,
    Long ago,
    But I wished,
    And I still wish,
    That I had stayed.

    By the sea.

    I said
    I never wanted
    To feel this way again,

    The wind,
    Blows drafts,
    Under the door,

But it never lets you in.

  11. So many things to do,
    So many people to meet.
I don't want to be another pretty face
People see walking down the street.
    I want to be known for something great;
I truly hope this is my fate.

    So here I am
And and one day I'll go.
Right now, I'm just one more person
You happen to enough to know.

  12. I like Teren's poem:) here is my attempt at a poem...

    One day everything will end,
Be happy that day isn't today.
So live life and be a great friend
Because our lives are not here to stay.

You find out very early in life
That nothing on Earth lasts forever.
So love and live and do not strife
Because you'll end the day in such a sad wonder.

  13. i stand beside the willow tree, watching
    as the red-orange sun sets
    once again

night has taken over, and the bright stars
    shimmer in the darkness to
    light the sky

lost for words i stand there, taking it all
in with every blink; it is
    so striking

months go by in the same way, seasons still
    change and life continues on
    not waiting

seize the day for all it’s worth, for the wise
knows that it might not be there
    tomorrow

  14. My bed how much I need you now
I cannot think of anything else
I sit here now almost asleep
    Wanting school to be done
    The day goes slow
but the day will be done before I know
Then I will go home to my bed
To fall asleep for a long time on end.
