Teren...where is today's post? Not cool!

What is the most unusual food you've eaten? What foods do you hate that other people love? What foods do you love that other people hate? What's your favorite comfort food?

  1. My unusual food: chocolate covered grasshopper. I had a middle school teacher who had gone to Asia and brought back "treats" for us. The foods that I hate you all know from previous posts (bananas and maple syrup). The food I love that most people hate: brussel sprouts. I ADORE them. My comfort food: macaroni and cheese - but I rarely eat it because it's not a very healthful food.

  2. I remember when we went to the LaBrea tarpits in LA when I was little and we bought cheddar covered maggots! They were actually really good, they tasted like chips :) umm..I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter or anything that has peanut oil in it. when i was little it was really hard for me to digest it but as i am getting older im starting to like peanut butter on a few occasions. I like it on bananas, baked goods(sometimes),reeses, and some other stuff...Um...I really like egg salad sandwhiches :))))). ummm.....Oh!! When I was in Istanbul, they had this yogurt drink/yogurt soup that I LOVED! The drink consists of sour cream, unsweetened yogurt, salt, and ice all blended together and served cold! It is soooo refreshing and delicious! Haha I ordered it for my family when we were at a turkish restaraunt in Milwaukee and none of them liked it at all! they actually despised it haha christina...The soup is served hot with olive oil on top and its just yogurt heated up with something else in it..and paprika. At first I thought it was suuper gross because it had curdled chunks in it, but after I ate it, i wanted more and more! YUMMMMM!!!!

  3. The strangest food I have ever eaten is fried mini frogs, it’s a delicates dish in China and our teacher gave it to us after he had been there on vacation. It was disgusting! He also gave us dried dog meet, but I didn’t try that one, to wired…
I can’t think of anything I like that other people don’t like. Or hmm, I love peanut butter and jam! And most of the people in Sweden think that’s horrible, so I guess that counts.
I don’t like chocolate ice cream! One thing that almost everyone else likes.
My favorite “food that’s not good for me” is definitely chips! I’m a BIG chips lover. And it’s so dangerous to be here in America, because you have so many different kinds.

  4. I haven't really eaten anything unusual, my diet is pretty boring. But I remember when I was like twelve my grandmother ordered me frong legs at some restaurant. They tasted a little like chicken, but I didn't like the thought of eating frogs. The food I hate that a lot of people love is stuffing. I hate the smell and the texture and everything about it. I also hate meatloaf. I don't know if a lot of people hate squash, but I adore it. I also love asparagus sprouts. For sandwiches and stuff. And my favorite comfort food is...chai tea with milk? yup, I think that's the one.

  5. I have a pretty normal diet as well. I don’t think I’ve eaten anything too out of the ordinary. As for foods that I hate, I think brussel sprouts and beats and meatloaf are pretty nasty. Everyone in my family eats them, except for me. I’m sure that there’s a whole bunch of other food out there that I don’t like, mostly because I’m such a picky eater. I’m not sure about you guys, but I love shrimp. I know for a fact that no one in my family likes shrimp, but that is alright. More for me! And I know a lot of people outside of my family who don’t like shrimp, so … yeah. When it comes to comfort food, mostly anything that is considered “bad” for me is what I dig into. Chips, chocolate, ice cream, … I could go on. And I also love macaroni and cheese!

I love ramen noodles! and I know a few people who dislike that! my favorite comfort food would have to be chips and cheese! I think it is a big favorite in our household! :)

  7. I have not eaten many unusual things. I really do not like tomatos. I have tried to eat them, but something about them just does not agree with me. But i can eat everything else that are made of them, just not raw tomatos. I have not heard many people disagree about things that I like to eat, besides Ryan's little brother. One comfort food that I love is nachos that i make with chips and melted cheese in the microwave.

  9. The weirdest things I have eaten would have been from when I was in other countries. In Austrailia we had kangaroo steaks. And then in Mongolia I had horse jerky. Both of them were really good. Both the steaks and jerky were really seasoned so I don't know what just the meat would taste like. I don't really want to know what in some of the soups we ate in Mongolia. I hate cellory. It is just one of those foods I can't stand. I agree with ben. Nachos are my favorite comfort food. Lots of cheese and hot sauce.

  10. I'm gonna have to say cheese covered mealworms. Erinn went somewhere in second grade or something like that and brought back mealworms for the class to try.. Ew.

I don't really have any foods that people think is gross.

My comfort food is vegetables. I love them.

  11. I haven't eaten much unusual food. I have eaten alligator and seaweed. I had the sea weed wrapped in sushi. It was disgusting. The alligator was pretty tasty. I hate onions and stir fry. I can't think of what my comfort food would be at the moment. I love anything sweet though.

  12. Most unusual food would probably be alligator jerky! My grandpa bought some in Colorado and it was really good! I wish I could find it around here. And one time at the Festival of Nations I got this tapioca drink and it had HUGE tapioca balls in it and it was disgusting.

My comfort food would probably be ice cream. I like making milkshakes only with orange juice instead. I also really like cheetos. Those are my favorite.

  13. I have never really ate anything that is out of the ordinary. The most I have done is drink lake water and thats sick! I love to eat the chicken biscuts and gravy at school, but so many people hate that. I do not understand how they do though! The one thing I can not eat is shrimp or fish sticks! I think they are nasty, and the fish sticks contain any actual fish. If I were you I would not try to drink the lake water, its not the greatest.

  14. Unusual: octopus, tripe (cow stomach), head cheese (the meat from the head of a pig), lutefisk (cod soaked in lye).

    I will try almost anything.

My comfort food would have to be Roma pizza with ranch.

  15. UNUSUAL: Sean took me to a Mexican restaurant Marley's for my 18th birthday. It was Bob Marley themed. We ate beer fried alligator...and it was delicious!

HATE: I hate asparagus & brussel sprouts. I doubt many people LOVE that kind of food, but I know that I hate it. I've even had a night mare about it. People ate it and turned into green zombies.

LOVE: I love to eat peanut butter on my pancakes/waffles/french toast. I wouldn't say people HATE it, but most people think it's unusual and are too stubborn to try it. However, every person that tried it ended up loving it.

COMFORT: I love any form of ice cream - shakes, malts, bowl of ice cream, ice cream cone, sundae, blizzard...etc. Otherwise I'll suffice with candy bars. :)
