If you could un-invent any piece of technology, what would you choose to lose? Why would you get rid of this technology? Would the world be better or worse, do you think, without this technology? Discuss!

  1. Hmm, I think I would say the TV. Even if I would have a hard time living without movies. Since the TV was invented, people are stuck in front of it! A family night nowadays is the same as sitting in front of the TV. It’s never playing a game or just go somewhere together. There is nothing wrong with watching TV, is just that too many does it too much!

  2. I think it would be very interesting to un-invent gunpowder. Perhaps the world would be a much less aggressive place. I really think it would help the world be better off and create much less violence. But, would some other form of gunpowder be discovered if it had not? It would be very interesting to see what the world would be like. Would there have been all the World Wars, would major events have happened, where would we be now? Would the world be a better place? I guess we will never know.

  3. I would choose T.V. Why? Because there's never really anything good on T.V. and too many people watch it. The television shows are getting worse and worse as time goes on. However, there are good shows too, but I'm just saying it's really been taking over the world. And like Jennifer said, maybe with less T.V. more people would play games. I would love that because I love playing games! :)

  4. I would invent the technology that would do whatever i tell it to do...it could transport me places, make food, print money, etc...woah that would be awesome!

  6. I would uninvent the cellphones with Swype texting. It's so stupid. If Swype was eradicated it wouldn't make the world any better, but I just think it's a stupid invention...and I can't think of anything else I'd want to "un-invent."

Oh, I would like to un-invent commercials on TV. :)

  7. I'd uninvent cell phones in general. My grandma always asks me when I'm not on my phone (texting, talking, online, etc.). She says that she doesn't know what people would do without cell phones, so I'd like to see how the world would do. I mean, there are people in countries that don't even have adequate food and water, much less a cell phone. I think the world would be a much better place. Less car accidents from texting and talking on them, people wouldn't be as rude. Ahh, it'd be amazing.

  8. I think it would be neat to uninvent the airplane. Then I could go ahead and invent it! Its not like I want the credit for it or anything, but it would just be awesome to know you were the first person to fly. Even if it was never invented, it would be sweet to see all the airships, like the Hindenberg. But of course we'd fill them with helium so we dont blow up. It would be neat to see a sky full of them instead of planes.

  9. I think I'd probably get rid of video games ... mainly because I don't see the point to [most of] them. If the world didn't have video games, things would be very different. Kids would be much smarter than they are today without them. And people would spend their time productively instead of sitting in front of the television screen for hours killing zombies or whatever.

  10. I would probably take away bombs like Sarah. It seems logical to me. If there were no bombs or nuclear weapons, this might be better. I would not gurantee that, but it is a definite possibility though.

  11. i would get rid of video games like nick. I think they are pointless and just rot kids minds they take up to much time and there isn't really any learning in them at all. No matter what teren and aaron say
