Write about a challenge that you've faced and overcame at school this past year.

  1. I guess I had a few big challenges this year. My first one was picking the college I wanted to go to. I applied to like 6 and when I thought I was going to St. Mary's something didn't feel right so I applied to River Falls and now FOR SURE, I'm going to be attending River Falls in the fall. My second one would be choosing between track and softball. It was hard because I didn't want to disappoint people, which I didn't end up avoiding. :/ It's nice that some people understood. I'm happy I made the decision to play softball though, I like it alot. And I finally made a decision for myself, I finally chose what I wanted to do and not what everyone else wanted me to do. Oh and another challenge was my grandpa's death. I spent almost the entire summer with him and it was really hard getting over the fact that he's not here anymore. Even now when I think about him I still cry. But things will get better, I'm sure of it. :)

  2. Well I guess my biggest challenge was choosing a college. That was harder than I thought it was going to be because I like Bradley, but I loved Nashville. But Lipscomb was not the right school for me, so I'm happy with my decision. And another challenge was staying healthy during basketball because I was running all the time and I was low on iron and some other things. But that turned out okay. And as far as homework, I've had a lot, but that hasn't been that big of a challenge. And I think it should stay that way! ;)

  3. Well I'd say colleges...but I'm still trying to make a decision. I really don't know what i want with my life, there are too many possibilities and uncertainties... I guess this year I really got to know myself better. I was forced to make decisions and figure out what I want to do with life. Through the application process I found my strengths and weaknesses and in turn was forced to strengthen my weaknesses. I really think that applying to college is just as influential and positive as any extracurricular activity, seriously. I learned how to manage my time and how to focus my mind on what I needed to get across in my application. I made videos, wrote endless stories and essays to allow the admission committee to see more of who I am. I definitely grew this year in terms of focus and dedication.

  4. I have faced a lot of fear the past couple of months, but in a good way. My biggest fear and my biggest challenge were to find friends here, but I succeeded and I have got friends for life. Another big fear was if I would be able to keep up in school, but every day I learn something new and since I came here I feel that my English has improved a lot. I have grown a lot as a person just of being here, I feel strong and I have proved to myself that I can stand on my own two legs.
Right now my biggest fear is to leave in June, it’s going to be so sad! But I guess I will manage that to and thank God for internet so I can keep in touch with everybody.

  5. A challenge I have overcome this year would be establishing where I am going to go to school next year and what my major is going to be. I was having troubles trying to pick one, but looking into my interests, I found meterology to be very interesting and hope that I can get through it well, because it is very interesting to me and I love watching the weather. Many people say it takes lots of math. That discourages me a bit, because I am not the greatest at math, but I really want to try my best to stay with it. I am very excited to learn all about new things. It will be quite exciting.

  6. My challenges over this year were joining the navy, and juggling college and high school.

Joining the Navy was an easy choice, but the actual signing the contract part was hard. I had to go through a lot of tests to get in. But I definitely overcame it. :D

Juggling college and high school is really difficult, but so far I think I've been doing okay. I had to give up a lot of time that I used to spend with friends for homework and studying.

  7. Well I suppose the biggest challenge this year was trying to figure out what I want to go to school for next fall. I have yet to know for sure, but I am pretty certain that I want to be a nurse, a baby nurse, to be exact. Another challenge was taking college classes at CVTC. Anatomy and Physiology has been the toughest class, but by taking that class I've learned how to study and manage my time better. It's not like A&P is an extremely hard class, it's actually very interesting, but it is just a lot of information to learn in a short amount of time. Anyway, now I need to face another challenging of finding a job for the summer.

  8. Probably the most challenging thing for me was picking out where I want to go for college. I've had an idea on what I want to do in the future for a while now, but finding somewhere to go for college was tough. But I'm glad with my decision and I am excited for something different. That and managing my time to get homework done and applications.

Though the biggest challeges are just around the corner for me. First there is G-Day. It's going to be great, but it's going to suck so much. Then there's July 15. Anyone who knows what is being released in theaters that day will understand what I'm talking about. And finally there is college itself. It's going to be hard at first, but I'm up for the challenge.

  9. Besides applying for college one of the biggest challenges I faced was doing research papers. I used to dread them (i still do a little) but doing them so often, especially in Social Problems has helped me a lot. Now they aren't as hard for me. They still take a lot of time and concentration, but now i can write longer ones, which will get me ready for college.

  10. Luckily my biggest challenge wasn't choosing schools because I got to go visit LR early in September and I knew right away that's where I wanted to be. BUT one of my biggest challenges is that my future coach would like be to gain about 15 pounds to beef me up a little. For most people that is no problem, but it has been for me. I eat ALOT and I must have a really fast metabulism or something cause I really can't gain wait hardly at all. Even when I didn't do sports for 6 months, I didn't gain anything. So I'm possibly going to get some advice from or work with a trainer so I can try and beef it up for college ball.

  11. Well, school hasn't been hard this year. The hardest part about school is the situations OUTSIDE of school. My best friend/boyfriend has been gone the last 4 months, I've moved out of my parent's house, I've done stuff to join the Air Force, I've been planning my future...etc. Basically I've been side-tracked all year and I've lost all interest in school. But I've struggled/procrastinated but thankfully I've managed to maintain good grades.
