Erinn Springer had the idea for today's prompt.
With just 15 days to go before you graduate, reflect back over your time at Colfax. What is your most memorable moment at CHS? If you had to describe your graduating class in three words, what three words would you choose and why?

If I had to choose three words to describe my class they would be family, laid back, and fun. Throughout the years we have literally become a family. Everyone gets along and we all pick on eachother like we're brothers and sisters sometimes. There is hardly ever any drama between us all and no one really hates eachother. All of the people in our class are tons of fun too! We can all make eachother laugh and the stupidity of some of us makes us who we are. :P
ReplyDeleteLooking back over the years there has been some pretty signature things. All of the dating that went on in middle school, oh boy some of the match-ups were odd! Looking back now I'm sure many people are like "I can't believe we dated!" :) Haha! Oh and girls, you can't forget Lewis' classic line: "Maybe I can take you out on my golf cart sometime?" :D Oh and when Tom first came to school, I remember looking up at him like "Holy smokes! You're huge!" and how everyone called him Timmy at first. :) MR. DEVINE. Nuff' said. (I think most of the girls know what I'm talking about) :) The middle school years were great for most of us but then high school came. It was a whole other world. We now competed in high schools sports, made friends with upper classmen and also got looked at as "Stupid Freshman" Sports have probably been the most memorable for me. All of the honors that I have recieved and all of the bonds I created. They will never be forgotten. State basketball was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had along with my junior year of track. Hopefully I'll be on that record board for a very very long time. Out of all of the years though, I think this past summer and my senior year were the most memorable of them all. Going up to the cabin with Sierra, Erinn, Christina, and Ellie was the funnest time I think I had all summer. We did a lot of fun things! :):) And this past school year so many memories have been made. Cross Country season was amazing on both the boys and girls sides. Conference Champs for both, sectional champs for the girls, and "Public School State Champions" down at state for us girls! A lot of memories were made this last year in that and I'm really going to miss my team. :'( Basketball has got to be the greatest season ever tho! It was absolutely amazing and memorable! The most memorable part of it were the boys, no doubt. For them to get as far as they did, I'm so incredibly proud of them. They really made history this year and no one will ever forget the 2010-2011 basketball season. You guys are amazing! :) The girls season was pretty great too. We were conference champs again and all of us worked so hard. We made a lot of special bonds with eachother and I'll never forget my senior year. It was the best year I've had. :) Well ok, all of this reflecting is making me sad. So I think I might stop now. I wish everyone the best of luck in their future and lets make the last 15 days of our senior year a memorable one. :)
Wow my greatest memories at Colfax. I'll list a few off, not in order. Well Basketball State as a freshman...it was the most amazing feeling ever, to be croud rushed!!In middle school we had a blind roadtrip for Kortney, we blindfolded her with an old sock, and we drove around for a while, and dragged her to lewis house where we fit about 9 people in his hot tub! In the summer during volleyball, junior year, we had a sleepover at Laura Mau's house and we stayed up all night, and we were all delusional, it was so much fun!! Freshman year, running at state track, and making it to the finals for 4x400 was amazing!! In 6th grade we(erinn, kortney, liz, and I) went through a "mauling" stage! we all would randomly tackle eachother in the hall ways, we never got yelled at, the teachers just laughed! Another class memory is with our chemistry class...and I cannot say what this is, but i'm pretty sure the majority of this college prep english class knows exactly what i'm talking about!! Junior year a group of friends and I roadtripped to cross country state and we body painted ourselves, then afterwards we found out that the paint we bought wasn't actually body paint it was acrilic, so it fused to our body hairs, and itched like crazy, so we made a big mess in the pizza hut bathroom trying to get it off! In volleyball when we won conference, junior year, for the first time in a VERY long time, it was a great feeling! To win in outright again this year was equally as great!! To win 3 conference championships for basketball was truely amazing as well!! Junior year our girls won conference for, dance, basketball, track, cross country and volleyball!! Our graduating class is unique, gifted, and full of heart!! There aren't a ton of people in our grade that are going to one place! We have people going to millwauke, North carolina, New york, Illinios, Madison...This is huge! It's awesome to look back and admire our grade, we are intelligent, extremely gifted athletes, and kind people! Our grade is different from other grades, we may have our "cliques" but our entire grade gets along, and we all love eachother! There is barely any drama, we laugh together, and we all respect eachother for their differences! I'm going to miss every little thing about Colfax! This is THE place to be,and the perfect town to grow up in! :)

Holy cow. Wow, we only have 15 days left. Thats's scary.
ReplyDeleteMy experience at Colfax has been so incredible. When I first moved here in fourth grade I was really, really shy. Everyone was so welcoming though, so it was easy to make friends. I remember doing all sorts of things during middle school like our volcano projects and the grammar flap. :) It seems like it wasn't that long ago, but all of a sudden we are almost ready to graduate! When highschool started a lot of things changed. I joined the dance team my sophmore year and I became even less shy. Being on the dance team really brought me closer to a lot of people. We did such an amazing job at all of our competetions and halftimes. It makes me proud. I also really enjoyed playing quizbowl with my friends last year and in current events class. Im not very competetive, but quizbowl always makes me excited. I will never forgot all the times I spent just hanging out with friends.
As for three words to describe our class...hmm..thats a hard one because we are all so different. So I guess my first one would be unique. We all have so many different interests. My second word would be friendly. I think we are one of the nicest classes ever.
And my third word would be lively, because we are all busy and fun. Yup. I am really going to miss you all next year.
Wow! Its really amazing that we're almost done. I love Colfax, and I love everyone in our class, we have one of the most talented classes ever, and it's weird to think it's all coming to an end. When I think of our class, I think diverse, loving, and talented. We have so many talented people! You know who you are :) Some of my best memories are of cross country, track, and basketball. Freshman year I became really close with a lot of seniors, so it was weird when they left. And I'll never forget all my cross country memories, like Larson, "what's popping the top?" or thinking we won the lottery on the way home from state! And all of coach Doucette's stupid jokes! The thing I'll miss most is all the people. All the teams I've ever been on have been like a family to me. I just don't ever want this track season to end because I know the whole team will never be together again. And I've made some awesome friends who I'm going to miss terribly next year. I'll never forget Butterball and I going tubing in a thunderstorm or Sierra and I attempting to picnic in the graveyard. But most of all I'll never forget this senior year because it has truly been amazing. I'm really so proud of everybody. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess people can write novels about this subject. It’s a little bit harder for me. I just have to say that Colfax is a wonderful place; the school, the town and all the people who live here. I have had such an amazing time being here and I’m still enjoying every minute of it. So thanks everybody for making me feel at home here. I will forever have two homes.

My favorite memories at Colfax... Wow, this subject kinda makes me want to cry. I'd have to say gaining back friends that I had lost over the two years I was in Illinois, getting rockstars for myself and Crotteau, experiencing college first hand, and joining the Navy. Describing our graduating class... Another hard one. I'd have to say our class is thoughtful, caring, and unique.
ReplyDeleteI know I always say I can't wait to graduate and get out of Colfax, but now that it's coming closer, graduating seems so unreal. I want everybody to be here for one more year. )':
My most memorable part of high school would probably have to be Matt Hellmann puking after the Coke chug. It was the nastiest thing i have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteelementary school memories- throwing hotwheels cars across the room with Lewis during summer school in first grade.
when Tom came to flag football in 5th grade. he was huge. everyone was so excited to have some one going to our school who was taller than 5"5'
Other great memories would take place in Middle school. when Aaron C came. Mrs Suckow MADE Tanner and i go talk to him. for the first two weeks, he just sat in the back of the class and said nothing. we then decided to call him frodo, because he looked like he was from lord of the rings....O how fortunate would we be if we hadnt oppened him up ;)
Upon the departure of Mr K in 6th grade, the drop in grades was pretty funny. getting in touble for rearanging the dictionaries in Miss Schmidts and only having to clean her room of one day was well worth the enjoyment of SSR. The coffee incedent which went undiscovered was great. and the launching of the clay and crayon by matt. Mr K did leave us with one thing... a solution to having two Aarons in the grade. The solution to the problem was Logger instead of Aaron L.
7th grade also offered some commedy. when colin tried to get the pencil that was stuck in the ceiling out with Mrs hudaceks thermometer. playing ping pong during studdy hall. A certain butterfly, and who could forget the poembook scandal! :)
this last year i have learned many things. Toms mom is a Christain! That it is possible for colfax to win a football game, that anything can be acomplished when a little goose jerky is involved (especially in chem), and that cinnamon swirl bread and hotdogs isn't all that bad.
The three words to describe our class would have to be classy, classier, and classiest. but three words to describe the boys would be Call of Duty.
I can not wait for our three year experiment to make an appearance!
Best. Class. Ever.
ReplyDeleteThose would be my three words to describe our class. Even though I’ve only been with these people for four years, it seems like a lot longer. Walking in as a new kid my freshman year was scary. I was really shy and didn’t say much. I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone was so friendly. I remember I shared a locker next to Abbie Lee. She asked me if I was the new girl and then she started talking to me. It turned out that we had first period together, which was Info Processing with Mrs. Zutter, so she asked me if I wanted to sit by her. At that moment, I knew that high school wasn’t going to be that bad. I definitely couldn’t have gotten through freshman year or any of high school without Erinn. Erinn talked me into joining the dance team. That made a huge difference on my high school career. I became a lot closer with the girls and made new friends on the team. This past year was definitely the best dance memories. We did so well at all of our competitions and it makes me very proud to have been a part of the Colfax Dance Team. I think a lot of the memories I’ll never forget are when we just hung out. ..and of course Junior year prom. Winning prom queen was pretty exciting. Another few memories are when the girls beat Osseo freshman year and went to state! That game was incredible. The thing Jenni was talking about..the whole senior class knows. Haha. Classic. And of course this year’s boys basketball team. They made history. The game against Regis was an unforgettable game.
..Running in the rain with the Russian foreign exchange student Natalie, going to Texas with Samm and Erinn, Valleyscare, new years,..etc…There’s a lot.
Our class is so friendly, unique, athletic, smart, and we all get along pretty well. If I had to choose what class to be a part of it would definitely be ours. We’re the bomb diggity. I’m gonna miss everyone.
I think the best way to describe our class is a mullet. Cause we are formal in the front but party in the back. Everyone included likes to have a good time. Its non stop laughter when we are together. The funny things Matt, Teren, Lewis, and Tom have said, hearing Kortney's kackle, screwing off during baseball and football, doing homework the night/day its due, and letting duty consume my life made my experience with this class the most enjoyable. I can't say much because Teren covered every single great memory of my time being here.
ReplyDeleteHe did leave out one important part though...baseball bus. For those few people who got to experience a ride on the baseball bus you know why it is one of the greatest memories.
I just want you guys to know i love you and i hope you fulfill every dream you have in life and i hope you live a happy life.
3 words: laid back, non judgemental, humorous.
ReplyDeleteI can't pick a favorite moment of my CHS life. But I will make a list: my first dance competition and winning a trophy at state my senior year, field trip into the school forest, dissecting things in biology, iscolating myself with Shanna during lunch and talking about life, junior prom, Natalie from Russia, being scared to sit by boys in class in middle school, basically living at Jamie's house and hanging out with Austin, Jenni, and sometimes Carly every day, manipulating Shanna to be my friend in elementary so she'd skip school to avoid me LOL, making a stuffed animal donation in middle school, making fun of kids who ate glue in kindergarten, kids farting in class in elementary, passing notes every day..etc. Good times, class of 2011.
There are so many things to remember from being at Colfax. I remember all the trips we went on, and all the fun little goodies we got at each place. All the pacetimes we had when we were not doing homework. I remember being out on the playground, always pretending, or playing football, and basketball. The swings were always fun to, seeing how high you could get, till you get to that breif moment when you stop at the top and come back down. We would always have something to do and where always super busy. Ryan and me would always draw after school along with make paper airplanes and fly them around the lunchroom. We have changed quite a bit since then, but we have also stayed the same. We would love to have nap time these days. Looking back, I find it really funny, that we used to sleep on rugs during nap time.
ReplyDeleteFreshman year was super awesome since we got to go to state for basketball! I will always remember those games. Pep band will always be a great memory. We love pep band so much and are really going to miss it.
This year is not done yet, and seeing that we only have 12 days, and even less since golf takes up a few full days, and we have a field trip to the MOA, I am going to enjoy the rest of this year to the max, because once we go out those doors...we wont be coming back.
I am going to miss everything and everyone here so very much
Three words to discribe our class:
Awsome! Hard Working! Ambitious!
