Since you are nearing the end of one phase of your life, here's a prompt to make you reflect: What is the greatest lesson you've learned so far in your life?
I have learned to be independence, to stand on my own two legs. Before I was afraid of trusting myself, but now my self-confidence is so much stronger. “You cannot find peace by avoiding life” is a quote by Virginia Woolf that I like a lot. I have learned to take chances and not being afraid of living life. Doing things you thought you couldn’t do creates a feeling that I have becoming to love. /Jennifer
The greatest lesson that I’ve learned in my life is to be yourself, no matter what people say or do to you. Having to change your personality, body, or whatever it may be just to be “popular” or get the “perfect boy/girlfriend” is probably one of the most foolish things a person could ever do. Unfortunately, it is so easy to look at other people and think ‘I want to be just like them’ or ‘Maybe if I change this about me, people will actually talk to me.’ But you are who you are. What makes you unique is how you are not the exact some copy of another person. No one can change that about you. Embrace it and just be you!
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” - Dr. Seuss
I've learned that a person has a choice to deal with certain situations, or get themselves out. For my whole life I didn't think there was a way out - I didn't know that life could be different. Some of my loved ones helped me find my way, and I'm grateful for it every day. My life is much better now, and I put my past behind me. Now, my vision is bright and looks upon my promising future. I've learned how to make my life better.
I've learned to be confident with who you are. I was very insecure when I was younger and now I'm comfortable with how I look and who I am as a person. I may not be supermodel skinny, be the prettiest girl in the world, or have many talents. I am who I am though and it's me. Also I've learned to not care what people think of me. Once in a while I do, but then I look at the situation and I know that I know who I am and what I'm about and that's all that matters. People can talk about me all they want but my true friends, family, and I, myself, know who I really am.
I have learned to not take life for granted. Everyday you hear a kid complaining about how they do not have this and do not have that. I have yet to hear one say they are content with what they have. I can be part of that sometimes as well, but since I found out my little brother has autism, it has changed my whole outlook on life. I would give anything in this world to let him walk in my shoes and live a normal life. The frustration he goes through each day is rediculous. He tries so hard, and he is definitely not a quiter. I look up to my little five year old brother. How he gets through thirty plus hours of therapy each week, I do not know. It has just really made me open my eyes to life and has taught me to be more grateful for the many things I have been given. Anthony was a gift to my family, he has done nothing but help us all realize how great life truly is. He has made me grow as a person, friend, and brother. Without him, I do not know if I would the same person that I am today and I am proud of who I am and what I am about. No one can define who my brother is and no one can define who I am but myself. Life will only be as good as you want it to be, so the decision is yours.
Always do your work well and with plenty of time to do it. It is not good to do things at the last possible moment. There where a few times where I did not do my work right away, and got stuck staying up really late finishing it the last night. I hope to get better at this, because it is not fun to have so much to do in such little time.
I have learned that the harder you work/try, the better the outcome will be. Everything happens for a reason, there is going to be bumps in the road, but I have learned to be patient and live throught the rough times, because amazing opportunities line up after the hard times. I have learned that with every bump in the road there is lots to be learned and it makes you a stronger person. That is what I have learned and I know I am still learning alot about myself today.
I have learned that I can't make everyone heppy. I was always trying to please everyone else and I wasn't happy. I learned that I have to be happy in order to be able to make others happy. I also learned that its important to live each day to the fullest. It's easy to just skim along life and not really live, and I've learned to not let that happen.
I learned to get my work done right away. It makes it a lot easier when you don't have to worry about a paper or something the night before. I am sure that will become even more important in college when there is more stuff going and grades are so much more important.
Something I've learned this year is to go out and try everything, and not to be scared of anything. Next year it's pretty important to take on this goal. I'm just excited to try anything to see what I really want to do with my life.
the greatest lesson I've learned?! Oh boy this is a hard one....I think I have to agree with Nic on this one. Just be yourself and don't try to hard to make other people accept you. When you look back on life you want to be proud of who you were, not ashamed or something. yup
I agree with what everyone else said. Also, meet people and don't be shy. And just to live life. We only live once. Oh, and another thing I have learned is not to complain so much. When I catch myself complaining I start thinking and realize that life isn't that bad. At all. Definitely don't complain. Enjoy life, spend time with family and friends as much as possible, and everyone opportunity you face, take it.
The most important lesson i have learned is, doing your homework so that you have plenty of time to do it, and do a good job with it. I have put off my homework alot in the past and have done it at the last minuets. I am planning on being alot better at that in college so i do not get so far behind.

ReplyDeleteI've learned to not regret anything and that everything happens for a reason. Every situation makes you a stronger person.
