Are you superstitious? Most people have at least one or two superstitions that they adhere to believing. For example: do you fear black cats? the number 13? wear the same socks all sport's season? What are some of your superstitions?
I don't think I'm superstitious, but I do wear the same socks and sports bra every volleyball game. I think it's just because they are my nicest socks and sports bra. When people say something like, "I have never got a speeding ticket or hit a deer!, I always say you better knock on wood though. I don't like cats because they are so creepy so I obviously don't like black cats, but I don't think they are going to haunt you or something! Other than that, I don't really believe in superstitions. I believe everything happens for a reason and what we are wearing or whether we knock on wood or not, it's still going to happen!
ReplyDeleteI am not really superstitious at all. I sometimes joke about some of the common ones, like knocking on wood, but I do not actually believe that it will change anything. I believe everything happens for a reason, and a cat crossing your path is not going to change that.
ReplyDeleteI am not superstitious at all. I joke sometimes about superstitious things like making a wish at 11:11 or something like that, but I don't actually believe that anything will make a difference.
ReplyDeleteI am superstitious. Like if you say “I’ve never had black happen to me…” then BAM! It happens to them. I’ve seen it. Life is very ironic. You should always knock on wood when you say stuff like that. You are just asking for bad luck if you don’t. I believe cats have nine lives, four leaf clovers are lucky, and beginners luck. Those are a few things I believe in.
ReplyDeleteI do not have superstitions. I sometimes say them but I do not believe in them at all. When people say them I kind of laugh at them because superstitions are kind of stupid.
ReplyDeleteI am very superstitious, especially in football. For example, I never cut my fingernails on a game week, I never shave the day before or two days before a game, if we win I wear the same socks the next game, and I always have to listen to the same songs before every game. That is about all the superstitions i have.
ReplyDeleteI am not really superstitious, but when ever my family and I go fishing, we always have to throw back the first fish we catch and that is supposed to bring us good luck. I have no idea if it is true, or if it works, but we always do it! I have broken mirrors before, and nothing bad has ever happen. Speaking of superstitions, I HATE the text messages you get that say "If you don't send to 5 people, you’re going to never be kissed and have bad luck for a week" there are so dumb and completely pointless!
ReplyDeleteI am actually not superstitious at all. I never really have been either. Owning black cats and breaking mirrors has made me see that there is no need to be superstitious about stuff like that. Although, I never walk under a ladder but not because I think it will bring me bad luck, I do that because I think something will fall on my head.
ReplyDeleteI can not say that I am very superstitious. I may not walk under a ladder, but I do not believe that walking under one will bring bad luck. A black cat does not seem to bring me any more luck, good or bad then a semis cat. Four leaf clovers, or even more rare seven leaf clovers, do not seem bring you good luck. After finding more than forty four leaf clovers, I think that I can state that. Unless some one that is superstitious would like to say that the four leaf clovers and the black cats that I come across even out my luck, I do not think that such things dictate what will happen in someones life.
ReplyDeleteIf I find a penny laying heads-up on the ground, I get a little lift.I still pick up pennies that are heads-down, though. I make wishes on things like stars and eyelashes, and I knock on wood when I make an "I've never.." statement. I have 4 black cats, and my mom does mozaics so I'm sure that we have broken mirrors laying around. I guess this was a pretty inconclusive assessment of my superstitious side. I am mildly superstitious. I don't think that superstitions will make or break you, but believing in them can make things a little more exciting and bolster you at times, even if it is just a placebo effect.
ReplyDeleteI do a lot of things that could consider me superstitious so I guess I am, but I do not always believe in them. I make wishes on shooting stars and when the clock strikes 11:11. I knock on wood so something does not turn out bad. I always listen the same songs before every basketball game. I never step on the white line in a softball game, I always jump over it. I like believing in superstitious things like making wishes because I want to believe that they would come true.
ReplyDeleteEh... I'm not all that superstitious. I think that things happen in life just because... There is no such thing as "karma". Or in that case, natural disasters would not destroy a whole town assuming that there is at least ONE good person in it. I don't know. Yeah...
ReplyDeleteI think I'm pretty superstitious. For instance, I always do the "knock on wood" when you say something that could have "jinxed it". I always wish upon shooting stars. I'm not sure if that is considered a superstition..but all well! ummm. Another thing thing is my dad tells me every morning, "Love you, have a nice day, drive safe..." If for some reason my dad doesn't tell me this in the morning I feel like I'm going to have a horrible day. haha. Another superstition is I only pick up a penny if it's head up otherwise it will be bad luck. I'm sure there are many other things I do that are superstitious but I can think of any more right this second.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of superstitions! I always have to listen to the same song before every game. I have to leave a half a piece of gum in my locker during each game. If we win, I can't wash my practice clothes until we lose. If I'm watching a basketball game, I have to sit a certain way and I feel like if I move, I am changing the luck of the team that I want to win.
ReplyDeleteI do not have any superstitions that I can think of. Walking under a ladder or opening an umbrella indoors do not seem to worry me that I will get bad luck. Stepping on a crack or breaking a mirror are things that I have done before and nothing bad ever came out of it.
ReplyDeleteI was gone the last two days of the week last week sorry!!!! I am not really superstitious. I do not really believe in having good luck or bad luck. Superstitions can be fun tho. Like four leaf clovers and stuff are amusing but I dont rely on anything superstitious to accomplish stuff. I do wish on 11:11 tho cuz thats totally real!!!
