10-21

Assignments. Scholarship applications. Papers. College applications. Job. Family. Homework. Friends. End of the quarter. Ahh! The pressure. How do you cope with stress? Do you feel that you handle stress well? What are some stress-relieving activities in which you participate?

  1. Basically, the only way for me to relieve stress is to keep working on those apps, homework, etc. I feel panicky if I have a lot to do and I am not doing it. My stress relieving activities have become typing essays and studying. It's comforting to know that I'm closer to my goals and better prepared for the future. I do listen to music while I work if I can, and talking to friends helps a lot when I am feeling overwhelmed. My mom sometimes forces me to go outside and hike with our dog or something if she thinks that I'm getting to tangled up in work, which I really appreciate.

  2. I think I do an alright job of dealing with stress. This year, I have been really stressed dealing with college decisions, scholarships, homework and my family. I get a little overwhelmed with all of it because I am the type of person who wants to know what I am going to do, where I am going to go and have everything done right away. I have not been able to do that this year with college choices and I think I just get nervous about not knowing for sure right now. I usually just have to take a few moments to relax or completely stop and go bake or something when I get too worked up about things.

  3. The ways that I cope with stress are by riding my horse and talking to her a lot. I guess I talk to my dogs too. I also relieve stress by playing piano and listening to Blink-182.

  4. I always get things done on time so I think I do a pretty good job dealing with stress. I worry about things too much and this year I think I need to just sit back and let fate run its course. There are so many things to get done in a short amount of time this year and that over-whelms me. My mom helps me a lot. She keeps me on track which is a good thing, but I don't like to admit that! To cope with the stress this year I have been hanging out with friends and talking to people to find out what they found works best for coping with the stress of senior year. If I can I try to take a few hours for myself every once in awhile just to regroup(which is usually a nap).

  5. To cope with stress I usually take a long walk. Or I put my ear buds in and jam to some music to chill out. I feel like I usually handle stress pretty well. Certain situations though are are to cope with the stress. If I really can't stop stressing I take a drive in my car with the music cranked up. It really clears my head. Most the time I do not let things stress me out.

  6. To cope with stress I eat birthday cake ice cream and watch a movie. This usually helps with the stress of homework and college stuff. I feel that I handle stress in a bad way, but I do not get stressed very often so it do not bother me much. When it comes to stress I will eat my ice cream but that is about it. I do not do any stress relieved activities other than this.

  7. Having a job, being in volleyball, lots of homework, college stuff, and trying to find time for family, friends and my animals is what keeps me busy and stressed. The last few weeks I have been spending a lot of time with my dog Lilly, because we need to put her down soon. It is killing me just thinking about losing her, because she has been my Best Friend for 14 years. I am going to miss her a lot. There are some days when I get home from work at 9:30 that I'm so stressed out that I usually clean my room, take a shower and then just go to bed. Then I have to wake up at 5 the next morning, which doesn't bother me, and I am not stressed when I do my homework. I always do a better job on papers/assignments when I'm not stressed. Whenever I am stressed or have a lot going on, my Mom always likes talking to me about stuff that I am not stressed out about. Shelby is also my life saver, she always seams to knows what to say when I’m having a bad day.

  8. Homework is the biggest stress to me. Cross country actually helps me to relax quite a bit. I really don't like staying up until 11 or 11:30 doing homework. My other big stress releiver is to go up to my grandparents and ride atv's in the woods. It will be way nicer second semester when I don't have a youth options class, and I have a study hall.

  9. When I am stressed, which has become a daily thing, I prefer to go for a walk. Most of the time, I walk in the woods, or through the pasture. To keep from getting stressed, I do some homework from one subject, then take a break, and then get to work on homework from another subject. The chores that I have once I get home have become somewhat of a stress releiver for me. I used to try to get everything done at one time, but that is not practical anymore.

  10. I get home every night and scream at the top of my lungs for two and a half hours. That is it.

  11. I am actually not too stressed out right now. I am mostly stressed about things going on in my firends life that I can't help them with, which is making me go crazy. I usually handle stress pretty well. I get a little on edge so I get kind of snappy but otherwise being stressed just makes me work harder and then I get everything done. Sitting in my room by myself, reading, or listening to music helps calm me down. That and I love venting to my mother, she is a good listener and she always knows how to help.

  12. I'm actually terribly stressed out right now. I've had a lot of unfortunate things happen in my life recently which hasn't helped dealing with all the stress I have from college apps, homework, dance, my job, and the personal things that are going on in my life. I had a doctor's appointment today and had to get three shots... I honestly almost cried. I am not quite sure why shots are so scary to me considering i've had some crazy piercings, but whatever. I don't like them. I have 2 more doctor's appointments next week. It's actually getting very frustrating because i have to miss a lot of school for them... but I have to do what I have to do, I suppose..

  13. I don't handle stress well. In most cases I just go to bed. Getting a lot of extra sleep makes me less crabby and makes it easier to deal with the stress. Otherwise, talking to my dad and sister takes away almost all my stress. They also know what to say to give me motivation. I like to take baths when I'm really stressed out. haha. I also eat a lot of chocolate, watch movies, and listen music. There is no specific thing I do to get rid of stress basically what I feel like at the time..but those are basically the things I will do when I'm stressed out besides getting ready pull my hair out.

  14. I don't think I handle stress too well. I think I let it get to me. To a certain point, I can handle everything, but once I cross the line, I feel like a big pile of poop.

  15. There are so many deadlines and things that have to be done by a certain time. Senior year is by far the most stressful year in high scool. Getting my homework done, attending CVTC, and work make for crazy days and long tiresome nights. I do not handle the stress as well as I probably could but I think I handle it well enough to get things done on time. I do not handle time well is the main issue.

  16. I handle stress both really well and not well at all. I know, confusing right? I work well under stress and can get things accomplished well in the last minute. But emotionally and physically it drives me nuts. I get tired and not happy when im stressed. So I handle it both good and bad. Kind of drives me nuts.
