1-18

This is getting really frustrating, isn't it? I can see that students have blogged, but I can't read your entries. Argh! Well, as long as you can blog, I'll give you a prompt...

We are going to be reading Carpe Diem (seize the day) poets today. If you knew that you had only two years to live, what are some things that you would like to do/see/experience before you shuffle off this mortal coil? Discuss.

  1. If I only had two more years to live I would want to swim with dolphins. That is one thing that is on my to do list before I die. I also would like to go on a cruise. I really want to go to the winter x-games more than anything.

  2. If I only had two years left to live I would take a trip to Hawaii and swim with the dolphins. I have been wanting to do those two things since, forever! Then I would for sure have to go sky diving!

  3. If I only had 2 years left to live I would travel to every state. Ive always wanted to travel. I would probably drop out of high school because I would want to spend the time I had left not in school for 8 hours. I would not tell anyone I was dying. And when time came I would just go far away. Where no one could find me. I wouldn't want anyone to know. I love lightning so I would travel where there are lots of storms :)

  4. I want to to go to Hawaii, go sky diving, and watch a sunset over the ocean. I also think it would be awesome to drive a really fast car on the salt flats in Utah.

  5. If I had two years left to live, I would most certainly enjoy my remaining time. I would go up as many times as possible. If I knew the exact time that I would die, I would like to spend the last few minutes of my life, sky diving without a parachute. That would be a way to say that I went out with a bang. I could finally allow myself to relax, and I would no longer need to worry.

  6. If I had only two years left of my life I would travel a lot. I would go to India, Africa, Scotland, Jamaica, and Alaska. I would visit my hometown and my family. I would dance in the rain, write letters to all of the people I love, and learn a different language.

  7. I would love to frolic in the jungles of Africa. I would enjoy sky diving. See the ocean. Chill in Colorado. Go snow boarding. Pet a shark. Pay people with sand dollars. Go scooba diving. I would just go all out. There are so many things to see and do in a short amount of time.

  8. I would start by telling every person about whom I feel strongly exactly what I think about them. That would sever the ties I don't like and strengthen the ones that I do. From there, I would do the usual "live like you're dying" stuff. Skydiving, swimming with various large aquatic creatures, climbing mountains (Kilaminjaro for sure), etc. I want to visit buddhist monks in the Tibetan mountains and spend some time in meditation there. I want to hear Yo-Yo Ma play the Bach unaccompanied cello suite live with the best seat in the house. I want to travel to the depths of the Mariana Trench. I want to visit Picasso's apartment in Paris. I want to camp under the stars and under streelights (urban-style) and have conversations with homeless people who I would normally just pass by.

  9. I'd probably do the same things I normally do, except more frequently. I would spend every possible minute riding my horse, and spending time with the people whom I care about most. I would never hold back saying what I truly felt or what was on my mind anymore. I would eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I would take the time to notice the great things about life while I still had the chance, and forget about all of my regrets.

  10. To be honest, I can't even fathom this question. I hate thinking about death and all that comes with it. Probably because I am only 18 years old, and my life has barely begun. I would hope that when I am eighty or ninety years old, I can say that I have accomplished everything that I ever dreamed of doing. One of these things would be traveling. I would love to travel as much as possible. I would assume I would spend a lot of time with Thomas, my friends, and family. I would just try to make the most of it, I suppose. However, I think for me that would be very hard. I would be constantly worrying.

  11. I love to travel now, so that would definaly be one thing I would do. Places would include: Astrailia, Africa,North Pole, Rio, and many many others. I guess I would do all the other common stuff on other people's 'bucket list' too, like sky diving, bunggie jumping, Ect... I would also like to try new foods, like That's one of the reasons I like to travel, to learn about and try there culture

  12. If I had two years to live, I would want to travel the world. I really want to go to Africa and ride an elephant. I also want to go sky diving. I have never been on a cruise either so I think that would be another thing to do.

  13. If I only had two years to live I would travel all over the world. I really want to go to Norway. I would also bungee jump and sky dive. I would love to go to Disney World and Sea World. That may sound childish but I have never been to either place. I am not sure what else I would do.

  14. I tend to have a brain freeze when this thought gets put on the spot. One thing I want to do before I die is go to time square on New Years. I think it would be such an awesome experience. I also want to travel to at least two different continents. I don't really have anything in particular I want to do other than travel many places, make enough money to be comfortable, and just be happy.
