I wish someone had told me you cant make everyone happy and that by trying to make everyone happy you will be happy. In life, the goal isnt to be happy, its to matter,to make a difference; thats all I want anyway. I want to make a difference because I want to matter. I thought the only way to make a difference was to make everyone happy. It just doesnt work that way. You cant MAKE anyone happy, but you can make a difference. If I would have known this, I probably wouldnt have spent my life so far trying to please people all the time instead of doing things for me. I gave up a lot of things trying to make people happy; friends, sports, falling behind in school, ect. I spend all my time at work because I matter there, and sure its gotten me somewhere, but, theres more to life than work and Ive missed out on a lot of it.
I wish someone would have told me how hard it is to decide a career while still in high school. I think it is very hard picking a career that I am going to like the rest of my life. I don't want to spent 4 years taking classes for nursing and decide that's not my calling!
I wish that someone told me to make more mistakes. Making mistakes is the best way to learn but I have spent a lot of time not doing things if I thought I would mess up.
I wish someone had told me that getting microdermals taken out consists of them getting cut out with a scalpel. If I would have known this, my decision on getting them would have been swayed.
