Write a letter to the kindergarten class. What advice would you give them as they rise through the ranks of CHS?

  1. Dear Kindergarteners,

Enjoy your nap time because you will soon miss it! Work hard to keep your grades up because it pays off in the end. Get involved in organizations like FBLA, Student Council, etc. because you learn a lot from them and its fun. Most importantly have fun and sock it all in because it will be over before you know it!
    Sincerely,
    Shelby (Class of 2012)

  3. Dear Kindergarteners,
Make sure you take everything in. Do everything to its fullest and never turn up and opportunity to do something great. Try to get along with everyone early on because if you dont high school will be horrible. Dont get involved in the stupid drama, its not worth it. The first time someone is mean to you, stick up for yourself. Dont let people push you around. Be happy even when you think you're down. Your time at CHS will go by fast so take it all in. Love every minute of it.

    Sincerely,
    Brittany Halvorson

  4. Dear Children:

Do not ever take play time for granted! Enjoy all the free time you have and live in the moment. From day one, get in the mode of getting your homework done and do it with the best of your abilities. Take LOTS of pictures and enjoy being a kid, for it is gone way to fast. As you go through your years try not to get sucked into the drama because it just causes many unneeded problems. Try your hardest and be the best person you can be. Don't ever try being someone you are not!

  5. Dear Kindergarteners:
I want you to know how time actually does fly by. It feels like just yesterday I was your age. Make the most of what you have even through the rough times. Enjoy your recesses, your playtime, and any other time you get to spend that is carefree. Be who you want to be not what someone else is trying to make you. Live your life to the fullest and be proud of who you are. Don't let drama get in the way of you and your friends. Do what you want and be who you want to be.

  6. Dear Kindergartners:
Do your best to be kind to others. Remember, treat others the way you want to be treated. I have heard that saying all of my life and it does seem to work rather well. I am sure you have also been told this a lot as well, but enjoy your time while it lasts. Being a kid will be a part of your life that you can never get back once it is gone. Always put the best effort you can in something, even if you do not like it. It might not seem to mean a lot to you at the time, but people will notice if you help out and at least try. For every good deed there is some reward.

  7. Dear Kindergarteners,

Always be nice to other kids, even if they are different from you. Sometimes, the best friendships form in unexpected places and the coolest ideas come from the kids on the fringe. Welcome everybody.
Make your school work important to you. It may not be as fun as other stuff, and it may not get the attention of sports and social life, but it is the root of your school experience and will get you the farthest in life. Do your best at all times, and challenge yourself.
Do not try to grow up too quickly. Girls, makeup, hair dye, and nasty clothing will not make you look attractive. The older kids will talk about how you look in a negative way, not a positive one. The most beautiful people seem beautiful to others because they radiate the confidence that comes from knowing that they don't need all of that junk to make them feel good about themselves.

  8. Dear Kindergarteners,

Enjoy yourself. The the most important thing you can do is enjoy yourself. The time will fly by even when it does not seem like it. Do not stress over big assignments because even if you dont think so, you'll get them done. High School is great. Live it up and get involved. Do not completely dedicate yourself to school work because you will go nuts. Have fun but be responsible.

  9. Dear Kindergareners,

It is important to always be nice to those around you. It will help you in the long run. Take time to make friends but also make sure you have enough time to do schoolwork. Take it seriously, by the time you realize you did not do enough it will be too late. Try your best and remember to have fun! Oh, and don't give your parents too hard of a time, believe it or not, they are trying to do what is best for you.

    Dear Kindergarteners,
First of all, please be careful on the play ground. It really hurts when you fall off the swings! As you grow older, you are going to encounter many obstacles. Always try your hardest and never ever give up. There are going to be mean people, and people telling you what you can and cannot do. Do whatever YOU want to do!

  11. Dear Kindergarteners,

Get your priorities straight on day one. Remember that high school is a stepping stone to college, and it should be treated as such. Give yourself time to be a teenager and kid, but put thought into what you want to do with your life and prepare for it. Take time to experience many things so you can start to discover who you are and what you enjoy in life. Don't let other people influence who you are. Do what makes you happy.
