Using the senses (taste, touch, hear, see, smell), describe sitting at the tables in the school cafeteria on a day when the cooks are serving your most/least favorite meal.

  1. Today is pizza day. I can smell the wonderful aroma of the melted cheese and pepperoni. The warm pizza tastes so good even though it is covere in grease. Like normal my friends and I are finding something to laugh about.

  2. It's pizza dippers day! Just about everybody is excited, yelling that they are hungry and can't wait for food. I'm sitting at my table smelling the cheese coming from the dippers. I'm excited to start eating. As I pick the dippers up, they are very hot so they hurt my fingers. so I wait a little longer and listen to the annoying freshman in line behind me talking about pointless things. They're finally cooled down and I start eating, the taste of the sauce and dippers fills my mouth and I am happy!

  3. Today is the day. The school is serving mini corndogs and macaronni. The whole hallway smells like cheese (not even the good kind). If you listen you can hear everyone nastily mushing their noodles in their mouths. Mini corndogs smell so nasty and almost fall apart in my hands. I would rather starve then eat the schools mini corndogs.

  4. That overwhelming smell. It haunts my dreams. It is thick and choking, slowly permeating the whole school with its toxic gases. When luch hour arrives, i sit in my cold orange chair and watch the steam rise from my tray. Groans can be heard throughout th luchroom as everyone topples over dead from eating... THE FISH TACO.

  5. When the cooks are serving tomato soup, I want to run away to China. It is seriously the worst smell in the world, and I want to throw up on everything. All day the putrid smell fills the halls and goes into my poor nostrils. The greasy, oily soup has more than enough disgusting qualities to fil our galaxy. Honestly, just thinking about this makes me nautious, and it is actually ruining my day.

  6. I can feel my teeth break with a loud cracking and crunching every time I bite into a hot ham and chees or grilled cheese sandwich. Just the sight of the crusted, hard cheese on the side of the bun takes away my appetite. The stench is so unbelievable and strange that I always have to breathe through my mouth whenever its served.

  7. I walk into the school and all I smell is the disgusting stench of fish. It seeps through my nostrils and all the way through my body just making me cringe. I go to the lunch table and I look at the fish sandwich. It looks like it was deep fried in sewage! People eat it like the dead animal stench does not exist. It crunches in their mouth as if their crumble from the poison of the fish patty. The one time I did eat the sandwich, I keeled over, but luckily did not die. I hate fish sandwiches.

As i smell the preparation of this disgsting meal throughout the day i cringe. the smell reaches its peak in fifth hour. it is so horendous i want to gag. i reach lunch hungry, so i decide to get a tray. I sink my teeth in to its crunchy bun, and loose my appetite.

  9. I look forward to my favorite lunch all week. It is chicken stir fry. When I go to lunch that day I am very excited to get in line. When I sit down at my table we are all quite at first because we are all eating. When the bell rings we talk a little, but not much because we are listening to the people around us. I am not sure how the rice will go with my braces, but I could bring a tooth brush. The air smells warm and the food tastes earthy. The rice is cooked fully and tastes good.

  10. It's chicken nugget day. Everybody is running to the lunch line to taste these cold pieces of fake baby chicks. I smell nasty fake smelling food. With the nasty fake, super thick mayonnaise, people are just enjoying their lunch. I look at their trays and gag a little because of how nasty this stuff is. Even with the slightest touch of the chicken nugget you can tell it was warmed up for about 30 seconds in a microwave. I can hear the people complain as the lunch ladies make them wait for their food while they make hundreds of chicken nuggets in the microwave. That has to be the nastiest lunch ever.

  11. As soon I walk into the school, I know what we are eating. The smell of the ham emanating in the hallways. I go to sit on the chairs at lunch and see what i have on my tray. The rock hard bun of the hot ham and cheese. People crunching into the bun at tables next to me. The only good part is the bright oranges.

  13. The aroma hits me as soon as i walk out of class. It burns my nostrils and makes my eyes water. Going to a hole and dying is on the top of my list right now. I get away from the lunchroom as fast as possible just so that I do not throw up. Fish tacos have invaded my senses and not in a good way.

  14. Oh no. Not again, we just had that. Yep, it's hot ham and cheese day. I can identify the smell from well across the school. I opt for the yogurt to keep from getting sick. People next to me shatter their teeth on the inpenatrable buns.

  15. I walk into the lunchroom and instantly know what we are having for lunch today, macaroni. Yuck. I hate the school's macaroni. It tastes like stale noodles with some gross "cheese" sauce on it. I'm not sure if I would really even call it cheese. Everyone else seems to like it though, as I see all the students (mainly boys) push their way to the front of the line. I hear them all talk about how excited they are for this lunch, but I think about how lucky I am when I pick up my nice healthy cold turkey sandwich. Yummy.

  16. When ever the school makes fish, I get a sick feeling. I have never actually eaten one, but I don't know how anybody would want to. The smell is so overwhelming, I feel like it is in my mouth, yuck. I see a lot of people who look at their yellow trays in disgust. The fish looks like a flappy piece of gross mush. Whenever I smell the stench of fish I just want to bolt out of door and get some fresh air.

  17. When forth hour is done I walk by the lunch room and I realize that I have to eat rottini cassoral. I hate the smell of it, the taste of it. I just hate everything about it. My least favorite days of school are the days we have to eat that.

  19. When I look at the lunch menu in the morning and see it's a chicken stir fry day, noon just doesn't seem to come fast enough! It kills me to wait 4 whole hours for that delicious, flavorful meal. I love how it seems to just glisten when the lunch lights hit it as if it were something sent down from heaven. When I finally get to bite into it, the broccoli is so juicy and green. Plus, we get awesome peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with it!

  20. Hooray, it's grilled cheese sandwich day. The dark, burned cheese layered in between two layers of rock hard bread. The flavor is amazing. It reminds me of eating solid butter.

  21. On a normal school day, fifth hour is the time that I check the lunch menu. I look to it with a hope that what ever we are feed that day will lift my spirits and put me into a better mood. But on a hand full of days when I make my scheduled glance at the menu my heart sinks. Its tomato soup and grilled cheese. After the bell rings I walk into line. I pick up a tray and embrace for impact, the lunch lady raises the cursed sandwich high into the air and slams it down on my tray. The impact nearly breaks my tray and I stand there shaking in pain for the blow has ripped my arms out of there sockets. With the little strength left I pick up my bowl of nasty soup and sit down to eat. Before eating my sandwich i take out my hammer and chisel and begin removing the outer layer to try to make it softer. After, I then take my first bite, my teeth straining to bite through the rock and the blood vessels in my face begin to pop. The charcoal and blood mixture fills my mouth with a taste that even a starving stray animal would pass up. In an attempt to wash down the indigestible material I eat my watered down Heinz ketchup. As i finish a single tear flows from the corner of my eye, not from pain but from the thought of having to endure this lunch again in a month.

  22. I love chinese food! That's why i'm extremely happy when we have chicken stir fry. It's so delicious that I always get seconds. There's warm rice and chicken with vegetables in a tantalizing sauce. The cooked broccoli and mushrooms are mouth-watering to me.
