To start off the school year, let's hear about your expectations. What are you hoping to get out of College Prep English? What do you really struggle with? What can I skip over because you all have it down perfectly?

Out of college prep, I am hoping to get more of an understanding of what a college class will be like. I am interested to see how good of a writer I think I am compared to how well of a writer I can actually become. I struggle with placement of commas. I mean, that's what I personally think is my biggest issue. I am really excited for senior year and what will come out of it academically and socially! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst day of senior year is done! I am going to try to keep the stresses of home separate from my school work, and aspirations. Last year that got in my way. I hope to improve my writing skills, and become a better writer in general. I am looking forward to all the knowledge this year brings!
ReplyDeleteThis year I would like to develop a good writing voice so that my essays don't sound fake. I hope to be able to practice writing honestly so I can learn to do that.
ReplyDeleteThis year I would really like to get the essay and research paper process down so it can be fast and easy to do during college so I have.more time to do other things. I sometimes struggle with grammar and commas and colons and when to use them and what not! Hopefully this year helps a lot because I would love to become a great writer!
ReplyDeleteThis year I would love to be able to properly, and easily, be able to write a research paper or an essay. If I can learn how to properly do it now I know it will be a big help to me in college. I also know that I do not always use grammer properly either. I would also like to add that I got accepted to Bemidji State University because I am super excited about it!!
ReplyDeleteThis year I would like to be able to keep a flow going in my essays and research papers. I feel as though some of the things that i write sound choppy and I would like to rid myself of that. Also, commas seem to be overused in my writing.
ReplyDeleteI am really hoping that I learn in College Prep how to better organize and write papers fast and not get stressed about it. Last year, I really struggled during the research paper with the organizing and rambling. I am so excited for this class because I know it will help me in the future as being a better writer!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest problem is writing papers. I feel like I stray to far from the topic sentences and my organization skills could be improved. I hope by the end of the year that a research paper will be less of a hassle and more of a quick and easy thing that can be done in a fraction of the time that it takes me now.
ReplyDeleteI hope that this class will teach me how to get things done with out struggling or stressing. Learning how to understand what I am reading better would also be a great help. Hopefully this class makes the jump to college easier.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the biggest problem I have is writing essays and book reports. I am hoping that this class will help me write reports faster, and will also help me be more elaborate in my essays.
ReplyDeleteI hope that this class can help me more with writing book reports, essays, and research papers easier and with less stress. Also get a better knowledge of where different punctuation is used.
ReplyDeleteI would like for this class to help me with organization of essays and reports. Also, I would like to have better grammar. Finally, I hope to be able to read faster, but still understand what I read.
ReplyDeleteGrammar and spelling are definitely the least of my worries! I'm hoping to just improve concentration when reading and to also understand things without rereading them over and over again.

ReplyDeleteMy hopes for this class include, as Reed said, improving my understanding of details the first time I reed them. As with most people in College Prep English, i hope to be prepared for college.
