I noticed a trend with yesterday's free write. Assignments, scholarship applications, papers, college applications, jobs, family, homework, friends, extra curricular activities, etc. Ahhh! The pressure. How do you cope with stress? Do you feel that you handle stress well? What are some stress-relieving activities in which you participate?

I deal with stress by working ahead and not getting behind and procrastinating. When I do get kind of stressed though, I usually just try my hardest to relax and do my homework with taking little breaks inbetween. I feel like I do handle stress very well because I try my hardest not to worry to much about things.
ReplyDeleteI don't really deal with stress that well. I stress out way too easily. To help calm myself a little bit I always make schedules of what needs to be done and when I need to do them. This helps me feel more organized and not as fluttery.
ReplyDeleteUmm, I'm always stressed. If you would ask my mom, she would tell you that my famous last words are, "Uhh, I'm so stressed out right now." I just started that this year. Senior year is really fun and stuff, but super stressful. I don't really know how to deal with it, because if I do something else instead of doing my homework, scholarships, or applications, I feel like I am getting nothing done. I constantly have to be doing something, anything really to keep me from being totally stressed out.
ReplyDeleteI am really frickin stressed right now. And when I'm stressed I'm a mess. It makes me not able to concentrate, and I get sick. Seriously, I hate school with a complete passion. I don't know how to deal with stress, I usually just sleep a lot because I can't do anything else so, I'm not going to have any of my homework done this week. Because of that, don't expect my prezi to be done. Honestly, I really don't care. I just don't care about anything anymore.
ReplyDeleteWith all the things changing this year I had to find different ways to manage my stress. I normally go to my room and just listen to music. Also when the weather is nicer I will go for a long walk alone. I have found that being alone helps me think through things and calms me down. Most of the time my family can't even tell that I'm stressed any more so I belive that I handle my stress quite well.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm stressed out, I get tired. I have no idea why, but I'll sleep and then never actually get to what needs to be done. I'll fall asleep instinctively whenever I have a big project or homework in front of me. I fell asleep a few days ago just before filling out scholarship apps. I think its just some kind of a reaction. The only times I fall asleep in classes are when there's something major coming up that I'm not looking forward to. My way of dealing with stress is to text or meet up with far away friends (yes, almost always girls...and almost always good looking...) which, like this weekend, doesn't always help out as much as I think it will...
ReplyDeleteI do not handle stress well at all, I get really upset and frustrated with everyone and everything. I get a feeling that I just want to curl up in my bed and sleep it off but that never works and if I do i get more stressed when I wake up. I'm pretty bad at procrastinating and should probably change that but probably never really will. Everything seems to be due tomorrow and I don't have anything completed so I'm really hoping my prezi isn't called tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI get so stressed all of the time! I dont know how to deal with it anymore. I understand that everyone is feeling the same way I am, but I cannot handle it. All of the things that get me going during school just makes me not want to do anything at home. If anyone has any ideas for how to deal with stress, I will take suggestions!! I want to just crawl in a hole and sleep forever...
ReplyDeleteI think I handle stress well because I know that if I slip up, like I did with the blogs last week..oops, that I can make up for it in the future. When I am stressed I don't really have much to do. I still have to babysit and go to work like usual. I drink hot chocolate a lot so that might be help. I like to cuddle and I think that helps too.
ReplyDeleteI handle all my stresses in life differently. If I'm stressed with homework I will just stare at my homework in frustration not knowing what to do. If I'm stressed about basketball however, I listen to music to take my mind off it or think about positives that will happen in the game. I also tend to just lay in my room and eat food when I'm stressed.
ReplyDeleteI handle stess good I think. I dont get stessed out very often. When I do I geuss I just go outside and walk or hunt. It is fun and helps me just relax. But I dont think I get stressed out very often.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that stress affects me very much.
ReplyDeleteI think that I know that I can handle almost anything. When I have a lot of homework and tests due on one day, I will do the homework before, but if I only have a little I will proctastinate. I think that when I work a lot of hours in a week that kinda stresses me, but I know that I can't procrastinate. Coreographing dance is also kinda stressfull. I am just hopeing that it will all go well. With schoolarships and college, I guess I'm not thinking about it.
I think that I handle stress very well. When I do get stressed, which doesnt happen very often, I like to do a variety of things. Perkins is a great way for me to relieve stress, it just is a fun place and I cant feel stressed when im there. Usually when I am very stressed I like to go to the gym and work out. Stress just doesn't usually play a big factor in my life.
ReplyDeleteMy way of handling stress with homework is to go by myself and do it all at once. I don't talk to anyone or leave unbtil I have enough done that I am no longer stressed. If I am stressed about something that I can't change the outcome of (acceptance to colleges), I go out and run while listening to music.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get stressed out, I have a rather specific strategy to calm myself. First, I put on my knee high XL socks I got from the hospital. Then I put on my Ben 10 Alien Force hat. Yeah, I'm that cool! Then I sit in the corner of my room and remind myself why it is that I am doing everything that I do. Why am I attending school? Why am I trying to receive good grades on assignments? Why am I putting up with this? Because I know where I want to be in ten years, and I expect to find myself there.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I handel stress fairly well. I try to get ahead on assignments on the days that I don't work and try really hard to remind myself that everything that I do this year is extreamly important and I can't be a slacker. If I'm super stressed I just pull out my Ipod and listen to music for a while or just randomly go do something that has nothing to do with school, work, or anything that involves thinking. Hanging up with my friends sometimes help, but not always. You just have to remind yourself that you won't be doing this forever and just get it over with and move on.
ReplyDeleteI thing that the best way to deal with stress is to confront it. Think about why you are stressed and deal with it. For example if you are worried about how much homework you have, finish it.
ReplyDeleteI would say i work pretty good under stress. Im a terrific procrastinator and being so puts me in many of tight situations. Im always rushed with deadlines and i to work them all into my busy week. But i have come to learn that it always works out in the end and i always get my work done.
ReplyDeleteI deal with stress by getting organized. When i feel like there are too many things that i have to do, i write them down and make a schedule. By having a schedule with a plan of what i have to do, it is easier for me to get things done. Then i can plow ahead with my work and feel good about getting it done.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest way I handle stress by music. If I'm stressed out, there's a 99.999999% chance I'll have headphones on the first chance I get. I'll make a playlist with songs that either motivate me or that will let me space out and totally consume myself daydreaming. Daydreaming, I think about things that I'm looking forward to or other good things that give me a much more positive outlook on where I'm at. Either that happens or I have all my epiphanies while daydreaming. I'm always more productive while multitasking. If I only have one thing going on, I get distracted by ANYTHING. If I'm doing two things at once though, my attention is already divided enough and I'm forced to focus on both things/everything I'm doing. So, if I'm wearing headphones, it's best not to bother me because that's the only time I'm actually getting work done.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get stressed, depending on how bad it is, it usually involves a lot of deep breaths or loud music. I don't handle stress well even though i'm very used to it. If i'm just taking deep breaths then it's not that serious and i'm just trying to pause, but if it gets to the point where i'm completely overwhelmed then I need to take some time alone with whatever music I feel like listening to. Sometimes getting back to normal can take a couple of hours. However, this is something I tend to do if I haven't had enough alone time in the past several months.
ReplyDeleteSo far senior year has been very stressful but has been rewarding in many ways also. I am a person that gets stressed very easily and kind of freak out. Throughout high school i have tried many different ways of coping with that stress but have not been successful. Hopefully i will find one that works soon!
