11-2
Are you superstitious? Most people have at least one or two superstitions that they adhere to believing. For example, do you fear black cats, the number 13, or wear the same socks all sport's season? Do you have to get ready the same way each morning or hear the same song each day to have a good day? What are some of your superstitions?

I am actually pretty superstitious when it comes to sports. Every meet day I took a different way to school and wore my hair the same way. For basketball there are certain songs that I always listen to.
ReplyDeleteI am not supertitious at all. I don't think anything can have an affect on your life. I believe that you make your own luck or stuff is completely coincedental. I don't think that superstitions can really control your life and make good/ bad things happen.
ReplyDeleteI never wash my competition tights for dance, but that is not because of superstions, it is because I'm to lazy to wash them and they do not get too dirty. I am not superstions at all, just saying. Acually I wash my tights if they smell bad.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to softball, I am very superstitious. I can't wash my jersey until we lose. If we are on a winning streak, it stays dirty. This summer, before every at bat I had, I had to do the same handshake with my friend. At summer tournmanets, when we would win the coin flip, we would always pick visitor. Which is not the best choice at all. We ALWAYS won when we would pick visitor and not home like a logical team would do. I seriusly am crazy superstitious when it comes to softball!
ReplyDeleteIm not superstious at all. I do not really believe in that kind of stuff. Yes I believe in good/bad luck but I don't believe that it is caused by some superstious thing.
ReplyDeleteI think all athletes or ex-athletes have some sort of superstition...I have a ton. I do a lot of strange things like not breathing while driving past a graveyard, not stopping something on the number 4 unless it involves music, if I have certain songs stuck in my head I know the day will be a failure, I wear the same shirt everyday I want to meet new people, I have my pair of pants I wear either every Friday to ensure a good weekend or no homework, every time I bowl, I need to spin the ball on the towel exactly 5 times, pop my fingers in the ball to get used to the feel of the spin, and smell my ball (that's not crazy, I have a scented bowling ball...), the Vikings won't win on Sunday unless I sleep through the afternoon games no matter who plays, whenever I wear a WILS or WASC shirt or sweats, the day goes well, whatever device I put in my right pocket for the day will get more use, if I have a notification on Facebook the first time I check in the morning, I'll be more awake for the day, if a math assignment starts with a hard problem, it will be easier, if a date I'm looking forward to is an even number of days away, the day will feel like it takes forever, my left foot has to be the last to touch the ground before every crack in the sidewalk, if two or more or the last three digits of my car's milage number are the same, I'll be lucky (kind of like a slot machine), and if it takes work to get my hair the way I want it in the morning, then most of the things I do for the day I'll actually have to work for...just to name a few...Not going to do what I did yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI am very superstitious in sports. Alot of the times especially for running, I wear the same clothes or shoes. Such as, for cross country, I didnt change my spikes even though they are very dull. I also sometimes wear the same sports bra even in basketball. Another thing is wearing miss-matching socks! OH! also, my dear friend Kenna and I have a little superstitious thing we do in cross country. When the ref counts down to shoot the gun, at EVERY meet when he says "15 seconds" we do a little fist bump and say "lets go." haha it sounds dumb, but it really calms us down!
ReplyDeleteI do not really have any superstitions. I dont believe in ghosts or black cats are evil. And I believe that the only way to have a good day is to make it good yourself. I believe superstitions are just things people use to blame bad days or good days.
ReplyDeleteI am not very superstitious. My favorite number is 13 and black cats are cute. I do believe that if one thing goes wrong one day, it will be a bad day because bad things will keep happening. I get ready the same every day, but not because I think it will help my luck. I am not a lucky person and I deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI am not very superstitious, unlike Garrett who believes in everything. I dont really believe in ghosts or a black cat in front of you as bad luck. I do believe in some superstitions with sports such as doing the same activities after school befor games or doing a different activity every time. I am also an avid saquatch spotter. He is definately a real thing and some day I will prove it.
ReplyDeleteI am not very superstitious. I never realy started any thing when I was In a sport so I didnt continue it. So that is all I have to write about on that topic.
ReplyDeleteI am not that superstitious. However, before a race I make sure that my race number is level with the word "COLFAX" on my jersey. Also, when I go on a long run I like to eat the same thing afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI am not superstitious. I dislike it when people are bothered by black cats. My foreign exchange student was extremely superstitious and would not go anywhere near any cat. She screamed when they meowed at her and even broke down into tears when one tried to crawl into her lap.
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to play volleyball I would wear the same pair of socks for every game (they were washed). I also have to get ready in the morning in the same order every school day. The weekends I don't care. Other than that I don't think that I have to many other superstitions.
ReplyDeleteI do believe in ghost and for good reasons and thats about it. I do not believe in everything as trevor has commented about above I don't know exactly what he is talking about.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too superstitious I Don't mind black cats at all Friday the Thirteenth seems to have been my worst superstition I guess. Other than that not really anything.
ReplyDeleteI am not superstitious. I think it is funny to read about all the things people used to be superstitious about a long time ago though. I dont even do any special things for sports.
ReplyDeleteI am a very superstitious person when it comes to basketball and sports. Last year one game I played the best I had all year, so someone asked my mom what she fed me for lunch. She told them that I pack my own lunch which is typically a pb&j and some kind of fruit. Well this what the first time I had eaten kiwi all year so we decided that was it. From that game on, I ate kiwi before every single big game the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteI think that i have many superstions, however i cannot think of many right now. I dont like/fear black things, and i have to get ready the same way eaach morning. I absolutly hate odd numbers! if the volume on the tv or radio is on an odd nuymber i will change it, i even try avoid planning or going to events on odd days. Before every performance and or audition i have a little warm up i do every time. When i used to be in sports, before i started to focus on music, i had a few things i did before every game too.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I do believe in the existence of many things that other people don't and I do have a habit of being more cautious, but i've never really done anything superstitious. I always thought black cats and the number thirteen were lucky and I actually made games out of trying to walk under all the ladders (as long as no one was on them).
