Othello Act III

Othello is starting to come unravelled. What do you think about this? Make some predictions about the end of the play.

  1. I think Othelo is going to do things that he will end up regretting. Desdomona will pleed and pleed that her husband forgives her for something that she did not even do. I think Iago will brainwash Othello so bad, that Othello will end up getting killed or killing himself. I don't think that Cassio will actually end up dying, but i do hope that Iago, himself, will end up dead because he is just plain evil.

  2. I agree with Heather. I hope that Iago, a.k.a. the bad guy, dies of guilt and evilness"ness." I hope that Desdomona and Othello live happily everafter and they can see through Iago's lies. And who knows, maybe Emilia and Cassio will get together after Iago gets what is coming to him, and Cassio's women should probably get some help.
So, I know that this is the "happily everafter" ending that brings the couples together and kills the bad guy, but that probably won't happen because it is Shakepeare.

  3. I think that Othello will end up killing his wife Desdemona because of her "unfaithfulness". I would like to think that Iago would get what he deserves, but this is a Shakespearean play. It is also unforturate that Othello is going to end up killing Desdemona because Iago would never get away with this scheme in real life. He is so chessy in the way he talks to Othello that only a fool would take him seriously. What a schmuck..

  4. This is terrible. It ticks me off knowing that Iago is playing Othello like a fiddle. In his rage, Othello will definately kill Desdemona if things keep up like this. He will maybe even kill Cassio, but I do not know. I do hope that Iago falls off of a cliff and dies on impact.

  5. I think that Othello will definetly make some very bad judgements. He needs to not be so willing to trust and also needs to control that temper. I agree with Kevin about Iago needing to die. That would make for a very hapy ending.

  6. I think that Othello is going to find a way to get Cassio "out of the picture." When Desdemona is upset by this, I think that Othello will kill her too. Maybe Othello will figure out that Iago has played him and will blame him for his wife's death. Iago would then turn the blame on Emilia, who would probably just take it. I think that Iago will then find a way to kill Othello for killing his wife.

I think that this play is just like a soap opera. There is drama, drama, drama.

  7. I think that Othello should stop listening to Iago, but I don't think that he actually will. I agree with Rachael that Cassio will be killed and that Desdemona will get mad. Then, I think Othello will realize that he was being played by Iago and will feel stupid. I think Desdemona will leave Othello for that one guy that started this whole mess with Iago.. I don't remember who that was. :) And Emilia should leave Iago, too! What a loser. Oh, and Bianca and Cassio get married. The End!

  8. I agree with Kevin - Iago should jump off a cliff. Poor Othello is being tricked by a really tricky and evil man. I feel bad for him, because he doesn't even suspect that Iago is doing anything bad to him. I think Othello will probably kill Cassio. I don't think he'll kill Desdemona (at least I hope he won't) but you never know. He's really jealous. He'll probably kill some people and stuff.

  9. Well! Othello is going to kill cassio. He's going to be angry with Desdemona and he'll probably send her away, kill her, or somehow torture her. Then Othello will realize that he was tricked by Iago and he'll go on a quest to kill Iago. He'll find Iago, but he'll get killed also. Desdemona will be very sad and commit suicide.
I think that's a pretty legit guess! CASEY's comment works too though. Iago can just go fall off a cliff and die!

  10. I don't feel bad for Othello at all. He just needs to settle down and stop jumping to conclusions. It's pretty much just like eggs and baskets. You can't put all of your eggs (in this case trust) in one basket (or person i.e. Iago). What if the basket is faulty, then your willingness to carry eggs is DESTROYED!

Where do I come up with this? Somebody tell me.

  11. I think that Othello needs to come up with his own decisions and not let others influence him. Everyone has their own way of handling problems, and Othello is letting Iago tell him how to handle his problems. I think that Othello is going overboard with this whole thing. I think that he should just go talk to Desdemona about it to see what her side of the story is and why she would be talking to Cassio. I agree with Rachael and Emma that Cassio will end up getting killed somehow. Than because Desdemona is a caring person, she will get killed for being sad that Cassio died. In the end I believe that Iago will be the only true main character left to run the whole show, which is what he wants.

  12. I think that Othello will find out that Iago is a very bad person, and Othello and Desdemona will live happily ever after. :)

  13. Wow Nathan, that's pretty deep haha. DId you think of that yourself? But i totally agree with Kevin and i hope Iago does jump off a cliff! I think that would make the story ten times better! I honestly don't think that Cassio is going to die. I just don't feel that shakespeare works like that. I'm still pretty dead set that Othello dies since the book is named after him and when we read Macbeth, Macbeth did end up dying in the end. I think that's just how Shakespeare works. He likes killing off the main character at the end!

  14. Sammy I love your optimism! However I think Othello has fallen off the deep end of crazy and he will never have a happily ever after.
