We've all gone to conferences, conventions, or field trips for our classes, activities, or jobs. What is the best/worst conference, convention, or field trip that you've ever attended and why?
the best conference i went to was about 5 years ago. It was one for sarah's syndrome. We went down to Orlando, Florida and i really enjoyed it. We went to sea world, bush gardens, anduniversal studios. We also go handicaped passes so we could cut on the rides. I do love those perks of sarah sometimes. The hotel we were is was called the Ramada and it was amazing. The pool was huge and it was always open. everywhere you went there were palm trees and relaxing sents. I remeber sarah loved the elevated since we were on the 23 floor so we road it a lot. There i seen all my friends again and i was just a awsome time. It is my favorite place we ever wentt to.
I'm not sure if this is considered a conference or convention, but I would have to say The March for Life in Washington D.C. We took a bus straight there. If I remember correctly, it was about a 24 hour ride. It was long. For the first couple days we just went to mass and got to tour Washington D.C. We visited the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and many other tourist sites. The last day we were there is when we marched for the unborn. There were about 200,000+ people there. It was incredibly. We all marched to the Supreme Court. The whole point of this march is to stop abortion. People who go to the march are trying to be the voices for the helpless unborn babies that die. It was an awesome experience. I've been there twice and I hope to go there again in the future.
I would have to say that the best conference that I've ever been to was Badger Girls State this past summer. It's also the only conference I've ever been to. But it was fun because I met a ton of new people and learned a lot about the government and politics. It also helped me to decide not to go into politics. It was in Oshkosh on their campus and it was really really hot. I ran for "state assembly" an I got in it and I learned how to write and pass bills and all that good stuff. One thing that really stuck out at me was that when we say the national anthem, we often pause between "one nation" and "under God" but really it should just be one phrase, "one nation under god." And the counslers that were there were mostly elderly ladies and they had tons and tons of energy! They went to bed at about two and got up and 6. I was impressed. So that was definitely worth going to.
The best field trip we have gone on for school, would probably be our trip to the Science Museum. I love looking at all the different exhibits and reading all about them. My favorite was the dinosaurs. I loved how big they were and how they were from all over the world. I also enjoyed the musical stairs, which were fun to make short little songs on. They always have really good exhibits at the Science museum. This past summer I believe it was, they brought all sorts of Star Wars costumes and props they used in the movies. It was so cool. The movies they show are very informational and are so much fun, because they almost feel like rides. And I always liked looking in the gift shop, because the always have good stuff. I would not mind going back there sometime soon.
hmmm....well I went to Panama with a group from school, does that count as a field trip?! I had a wonderful time in 9th grade when I went to the Middel Level State Honors choir in Madison. just as we were finishing up with rehersals for the night, our director brought all 200 of us outside and we stood on the street and he said "even though we are in a city, nature is all around us." HE has different groups make animal noises and wind sounds and no more than 3 minutes into the calling, flocks and flocks of birds flew above us and called back, cats came from yards, and crickets got really loud! it was absolutely amazing! Magical to say the least!
I liked going to festival of nations. There were many booths from all different countries. I liked seeing the different performances and dances they did in the auditorium. One of my other favorite field trips was one I went to at my old school. We went to Festival du Voyager. It as a festival in winter celebrating the life of Canadian fur traders in the old days. We went through giant snow mazes, saw ice sculptures, and ate maple syrup candy. It was very fun!
I also like the Festival of Nations. It was a very neat experience and I enjoyed it very much. The only thing I didn't care for was that it was pretty much just a place to shop for stuff from other nations. I thought it would have had a little more history to it but oh well! I enjoyed seeing the different things they had to sell and seeing and tasting all of the unique, yummy food! That's all. :)
I liked the festival of nations. There we could see what fidderent coultors had to offer. You could eat food from different places, and buy unique goods! overall I though that it was a fun experience, and I would love to go there again! :)
My favorite conference/field trip was probably the Sportmanship Summit in Elk Mound. It was because we got free Subway. Lewis and I got to pig out on the free candy as well! I cannot argue about leaving school for something to do with sports. They are not the best reasons, but I remember having fun with the people I went with.
One of the best field trips I had was when my school went to the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth. I remember thinking that it was just going to be an entire day of staring at a bunch of fish, but it turned out that there was a lot more than just fish up there. We also visited the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, which was really cool. I don’t really remember a whole lot of the trip as I went there in third grade, but I do remember pigging out at Red Lobster for lunch vividly.
My favorite field trip was in eighth grade when we went to the Science Museum. It was really need to go around and see all the different things that they had set up. I really like that museum because there are many things to do; you don't just go around and look. I am a more hands-on person. I agree with Ben. The musical stairs were pretty sweet. It was also cool because we could run around all day with our friends, have fun, and still be learning something.
One other awesome field trip was sophmore when we went to the Mississipi for adv bio and went fishing. That was just a blast. It was so much fun to get out of school and go fishing for a day. That was really cool.
My favorite field trips were both Mr. Mosey field trips. For one we went to the Mississippi and fished all day long. The other one we went hiking in the woods and we ate food all day. And for both of these field trips we got out of school all day and were actually outside.
My favorite field trip was the last one I went on at my old school. We went to a health career fair in Rockford and I got to see some of the cool jobs in the medical field.
My mom has all these conventions for work all over Wisconsin, and I don't get to go to them all, but the fun ones are usually in Green Bay or Madison. Madison had been fun when I had been younger, not that it isn't still fun, but when you are little, big things have a bigger impression on you. Like seeing the Capital for the first time, that was amazing. Usually when there is a Green Bay one though, it's always the off-season so you can't really go to a game or anything. But just being at Lambeau Field is good enough for me.
I don't remember many field trips. But I do remember Crystal Cave, and that was really cool! I loved the eeriness and the story behind it. I would love to discover a cave.
Otherwise I also liked the field trip where we went to the mall. It was cool because I brought two complete opposite aspects of my life together: school (least favorite) fused with shopping (most favorite).
