Oops! I forgot to give you a topic yesterday. I must be losing it in my old age.
Discuss how your creative writing assignment for Wicked is progressing. What story did you choose to retell? Which character's point of view are you using? What issues are you having? Are you enjoying being creative? Will you have your rough draft completed by Monday?

I chose to retell the story "Get up and Bar the Door." I'm telling it from the two robbers' point of view. It's going pretty well for me and I have quite a bit done so far! This writing assignment isn't as hard as the other ones because I get to make it up as I go and I don't have a certain topic to write about. I don't mind creative writing as much as I thought I would. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to write my assignment from Chistery's point of view. I think it will go well because Chistery has a lot of things going on with him that nobody can understand until they get into his mind. I'll definitely have it done for Monday. (:
ReplyDeleteI chose to retell the poem/story of "Get up and Bar the Door" as well. I am telling it from the three robbers' point of view. I have about a page done. It's coming along. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but creative writing is still not my favorite type of writing. I don't mind it right now though :) My story just isn't going to be THAT creative. Anyway, I am sure I'll have my done by Monday.
ReplyDeleteI chose to tell the Pardoner's tale from the point of Death. I am writing out right now and I will type it Saturday morning because I have NO OTHER TIME TO DO IT! I am a little stressed out right now. The End.
ReplyDeleteI am doing othello. I am telling the story from Cassio's piont of veiw. It is very slow going, but I enjoy writing using slang words.
ReplyDeleteI am going to write a creative paper on Beowulf. I am writng the story about how Grendel came to be, and what he does during the point when he kills all the men as well as what he is going through after he is defeated by Beowulf. I think it will be an easy one to do, and I have a lot of good ideas. I love being creative. It is so much fun and one of my favorite things to do, is being creative. I will not be here Monday, but i will have my rough draft done and ready for revision.
ReplyDeleteHa, well I'm ALSO using "Get up and Bar the Door." It's being told from one of the "villain's" point of view. I'm not sure if there was 2 or 3 robbers but in my story there's 2. I appreciate whenever we have time to write in class, especially in the library. However it's hard for me to write creatively in the first place, plus I'm surrounded by little noises and whispering and my friends so I just can't concentrate. I don't usually have this problem when I'm writing other kind of papers though. I have to start/finish this paper tonight after dance, and if that doesn't happen then I won't have it done for Monday. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI am doing the pardoner's tale. I like creative writting a massive amount more than research paper-type writting. Creative writting comes more naturally to me than other writting. I am having fun describing stuff. I used first-person narration.
ReplyDeleteI am doing mine on the pardoner's tale. I am telling the story through the eyes of death. It took me a while to figure out how to start the story, but now I have a good idea of how it is going to go. I will have the rough draft done my monday. though one thing I admit...I HATE writing diologue!! but i'll get over it.

My creative writing assignment is going well, I think. I chose to write about Grendel's mother from Beowulf. No idea what I'm going to write about her, though I do have a few ideas in mind. At this moment, I'm just brainstorming and trying to figure out how I should go about making Grendel's mother seem like she's the victim of the story. I'm hoping to get it all written up sometime tomorrow, even though I won't be at school on Monday and the majority (if not all) of Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThe creative writing assignment is going alright. I getting it done, but I do not know how well it is. I am not too worried about it. I am writing about Othello in Cassio's point of view. Yes I am thats what I'm doing.

Well at first, I wasn't quite sure what to write about! But then....I got going and I think the story of Wicked sort of influenced my writing..weird names, unanswered questions etc...but I really enjoyed writing this! My least favorite part about writing is just the whole random rules things/the technical stuff.:)
