If you could meet one famous influential woman, alive or dead, who would it be? Why? Now, write about an imagined meeting with that woman. Where do you go? What do you talk about together?
I'd like to meet Susan B. Anthony. She was one of the most influential women in the history of the United States.
If I were to meet Susan B. Anthony, we would go to a women's right movement. Afterwards, we would go to a nice restaurant to eat lunch and talk. We'd talk about The Revolution, her fight for women to vote, and her passion for women's sufferage.
If I could meet one influential woman it would have to be Maya Angelou. We would meet at a poetry slam in the Bronx. It would be a rainy day and we would meet at a cafe and listen to poetry. We would drink black coffee and talk about writing. She would tell me about her life and struggles and what inspired her to become a writer. She would be the last one to recite a poem and she would recite 'I know why the Caged Bird sings.' Everyone would snap and she would walk out into the rain without an umbrella.
If I could meet with any one influential woman, I would choose to meet Rachel Carson. We would have breakfast at a nice resturant near a forest. We would order delicious fruits and other tasty foods. Then we would walk through the forest and she would tell me all about how she got her ideas for helping the environment. I would also ask her what she thought of our outdoors status today and what she would do to help make it more suitable for wildlife as well as people.
If I could meet any influential woman it would have to be Mother Teresa. I would want to meet her because she has done so many amazing things in this world and has helped so many people. We would meet and probably talk for hours and hours about how she started The Missionaries of Charity. I would ask her many questions like how she got the missionary started and how she became so holy and so on and so forth. She has been recognized throughout the world and has won many awards including the Nobel Peace Prize. It would be an honor to meet her.
(I'm not sure if this counts but..) I would love to meet Jane Goodall. She was very influential in the case of helping chimpanzees. Her passion for helping these animals is very inspiring to me. If we were able to meet, I would love to go on a trip with her to Gombe National Park, where she first began her studies. Of course now the park is being logged, but we would go and study the chimps that still remain on the few protected acres. We would talk about how she became interested in helping out the chimpanzees and how she has saved them already. Then we would end the day at maybe a refugee or something, helping to take care of baby chimps! (If it's something we could do) :)
I would love to meet Dorothea Lange. Dorothea was a photographer during the Great Depression. She travelled aroud and photographed the depression at its worst. Because she photographed during this time, she has images that convey far deeper emotions than any of her predessessors.
If I spent a day with her, I would follow her around as her "shadow". I would observe how she interacts with her subjects and discover how and why she takes the images that she does. I would ask her what her favorite part about a portait is and how that is translated into her own art.
A famous and influential woman that I would like to meet would probably be Amelia Earhart. Amelia was an outstanding woman. She was the first to fly the Atlantic, she received the Special Gold Metal from the National Geographic Society, and she was voted Outstanding Woman of the Year on behalf of "all women." She met many important people including a couple of presidents. She had almost flew around the world even (until her plane went missing and the bodies never found). It would have been nice to meet her when she had just started out and her dreams were growing.
I think it would be pretty awesome to meet Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across both the Atlantic and Pacific. Amelia also used her fame for good, by becoming an advocate for women's rights.
I'm guessing we would have our conversation on an airplane. I would ask her what happened to her when she disappeared, and would want her to teach me how to fly a plane.
I would like to meet Amelia Earhart. She was a very determined woman, who uses her courage to accomplish her goals. When we meet she would take me flying with her. She might even teach me how to fly the airplane, as it is something I would like to learn. We would go to a foreign country, meet the natives, and explore their culture. I would ask her what had sparked her interest in flying and traveling.
I personally wouldn’t say no to meeting J. K. Rowling. In my opinion, she is one of the most influential female authors out there. Without her and the Harry Potter franchise, there is a really good chance that I would never like reading or writing (long story short, I hated doing both until I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in second grade). And I’m not alone in saying that as she has influenced so many children and adults to keep their minds wide open and let their imagination soar.
We would most likely end up bumping into each other at Nicolson’s Café in Edinburg, Scotland, if we ever did get the chance to meet. I’d be there just to visit the place where J. K. Rowling wrote up portions of the Harry Potter novels. It certainly would be a real treat if I happened to walk in the café on a day when she could be found sitting at a table with paper and a pen at hand. The first thing that I would do is freak out a little bit. Okay … I’d freak out a lot!
After taking some time to calm down, I’d walk over to the table and ask if I can sit with her. Whether or not she let me, a million and one questions would burst out of my mouth. Hours would go by with us just talking while drinking cup after cup of tea or coffee. After asking her question after question, we’d talk about recent books we’ve read, anything to do with writing, and whatever else that happened to come up in our conversation.
Personally i'd really like to meet Stephinie Meyer. She is one of my favorite wrtiers and i love to just alk to her about how she got the ideas for her books. How it feels for them to be huge hits and what its like to know your the one who created them. I mean i no its not anyone like amiliea airheart or Princess Dianna but she is someone that has influenced people. Her books caused a major wave of reading through teenagers and thats and amazing thing in itself. If i ever meet her i would be so happy.
When i imagine spending the day with her i think about talking about books at a cofe shop outside on a porch over looking a beautiful view. I just think of all the things i loved in her books and asking her about how they came to her. Then with some new ideas i help her with her next book and i soon go through these things with her.
Yes i no its a little werid but its not just twilight actually my favorite book of hers is The Host. She is just an amazing writer that grabs you and just gets you addicted.
I would like to meet Ellen Degenerous. I am a huge fan of hers, and I think she is a pretty influential person. She has a show where she meets wit people just like any other talk show host. Except her show is different. She brings a certain personality to the show. She is constantly dancing, and she always has a smile on her face. She also has overcome many obstacles being a lezbian woman. She is proud of it, and she excepts all religions and races. She is like a free soul! I would love to talk to her about how she sees life, and I would probably ask how she gets so motivated during her show, and for life in general. She has always been a very influential person to me. Just by watching her shows she has taught me to really live life, and always wear a smile. Also to make others smile. I just really like her! :) :)
Alright. Obviously I would want to meet Marilyn Monroe.
I would want to go to a night club with her, and talk about her boyfriends. I've heard she "got around" and I just think it would be very valuable girl gossip. Oh,and I would also want to take her to a club because I want to see her dance moves. :)
I imagine myself going to her house, and the first thing I would do is open her closet. I tend to do that at all my friend's house. I love looking at people's clothes. But I can bet that the only thing she has in her wardrobe is her classic, white dress. I would laugh so so so hard.
I don't know too much about her, historically. But I read in a magazine that she was a dress size 8 or 10 something - and it shocked me. It proved to me that "skinny" has a whole new meaning now-a-days.
Marilyn Monroe is hot, and she set a trend for sexy moles on people's face. :)
If I were to meet an influential women it would have to be Anne Frank. I would want to go back to when she was hiding in the attic with her family and friends and talk to her more about how it feels. Anne Frank was the only one that i was curious to meet and I couldn't really think of anything else to write about.
I think I would chose to meet Eleanor Roosevelt. She was very active in civil rights and it would be interesting to talk to someone about it and hear a different view on it besides what we learn in school. She also went all over the world in WWII. It would be really cool to hear about that as well. She would probally know a lot about since she was all over the place during the war. I don't really know where we'd go but maybe a coffee place or something simple like that. But she'd be interesting to talk to.
If I could meet any influential women, I think it would be Rosa Parks. She comepletely changed the way people live now. I would want to ask her what everyone would I think, what was she thinking on that famous day on the bus? She is just an amazing person to look up to. She demanded respect and that takes a lot more courage than what people would think, especially back then. This world wouldn't be the same right now if she didn't do what she did.
