I went to Maryland. It was my first plane ride, and on the flight the speaker announced my name and that it was my first time. After we landed, I was allowed to sit in the cockpit for pictures. In Baltimore, I spend endless hours in the ocean, "boogey-boarding". The water tastes shockingly salty. My friend and I rode weird bicyles that don't have handles. We went to some kind of ESPN center, and a historical museum. We also went to listen to Martin Luther King's daughter give a speech.
That was the best vacation I've had. I wish I could go on another vacation, now that I'm older and appreciate experiences more.
The best vacation I have been on would have to be the Europe trip. It was cool to see other countries. My favorite parts of the trip were was walking around all the cities that we stopped in, and going to see the catacombs in Paris. A few others on the trip and I went to a "rave" in Florence. The club was full of old men and young girls. It was the creepiest place I had been to. I didnt like the long plane rides or seeing all of the churches.
My worst vacation ended up being one of the best I ever had. One summer, after I had just turned six, my grandparents decided to take a trip up to Michigan. Going with them wasn’t part of the original plan, but I somehow wounded up going with them nevertheless. Being six at the time, I really didn’t care about being picked up so suddenly. Going to Michigan would be the first time I had ever been in state that wasn't Wisconsin. I was beyond excited!
However, that excitement quickly went away after cruising down the highway for about an hour. What I wasn’t told was that it’d take several hours of sitting in a car to Michigan, maybe even longer as my grandfather would be driving the entire trip. And when my grandmother told me we had a long way to go, I was already thinking that there was no way I was going to survive another hour in the car. I ended up falling asleep after gazing out of my window for who knows how long. One, especially a six year old, can only look outside a window for so long before getting bored.
If I hadn’t fallen asleep, I do not know what my six year old self would have done. Though getting to Michigan would have seemed to take much longer if I ended up being wide awake as we drove through town after town. After I woke up from feeling the car stop abruptly, my grandparents couldn’t help but smile down at me and tell me the big news. We were there ... finally.
Just to sum the happenings of this trip, the list on how horrible it was grew larger and larger. From having car trouble to constantly getting los to even having to stay in some crummy motel, you’d think that there would be a brighter side to this story. Nothing seemed to be going as planned, but it ended up being one of the best vacations. Scavenging for seashells on the beach, walking up to gigantic lighthouses, and unexpectedly getting licked by a giraffe in a zoo were just some of the highlights that made this vacation go from being one of the worst to one of the best.
I would have to say that my best vacation would be when we went to Europe. I loved it when our plane got delayed. We got to spend more time at the airport, which I love to do because I love the atmosphere of airports. Europe was so awsome! The sites were sweet and the buildings and landscapes were breathtaking! The food was top notch as well. I would go back there just for the steak and french fries that we had. My favorite country that we visited while we were over there was Switzerland. I loved the mountains as well as all the me cool stuff to buy.Thats where i bought my Swiss army knife. I also really liked London. I got tons of awsome pictures of the city. My favorite is one of me looking down on Big Ben as if I'm the bigger Big Ben. The whole trip was awsome and well worth it. We saw so much, ate alot, and had loads of fun.
The best vacation ever would be when my family and I went on a cruise that started in Florida and made stops in Key West, Cozumel, and Castaway Cay. The most enjoyable part of it was meeting people from all over the world. I meant people from Australia, the Netherlands, China, and also from multiple U.S. states. Also, all of the food that i could order through room service was FREE!! It was so much fun. I got to enjoy it with my sisters, Alexis and Kara, my dad and step mom, my step mom's parents, and my little brother.
My best vacations were from when I was little because I traveled all over Canada. Unfortunately I can't remember any of those so I will tell about a more recent vacation that i enjoyed. Last summer my mom turned fifty so we went to Chicago. Besides the twin cities I haven't had the opportunity to really explore a big city, so there were lots of new things to experience. There were plenty of interesting characters there, and it was fun to meet and talk to them. We walked from our hotel to downtown (5 miles one way) because parking spaces would have been a hassle to deal with. We ate the most delicious meal at a restaurant in little India. I saw "Sue" the largest, most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, at the Field museum. I also enjoyed exploring china town because they had lots of gift shops, and I'm a sucker for anime/manga stuff. Anyway, that vacation was the best one that I can remember, and I would love to go back there someday.
My best vacation was going to Colorado with my family and grandparents. My aunt and cousin live in a little town about a half an hour outside of Denver, so we went to stay with them for two weeks. It was a blast! I was eight years old at the time, so I don't remember too much but enough to know it was great. We walked through the Garden of the Gods and at the end of the day cooled off in the Colorado River. One day we spent the whole time at the Denver Zoo, seeing many weird animals that aren't in the zoos around here. We visited Santa's Workshop in the North Pole one day too. (It wasn't really Santa's Workshop, which was disappointing to me) :( The train ride through the Rockies was by far the greatest experience though! That is something I will never forget! We stood out on the deck most of the time watching people kayak and white water raft and taking in the gorgeous mountain scenery. Unfortunately, the vacation had to end and we had to drive all the way back home. Our way home was pretty interesting however. We were in North Dakota, I believe, and got caught in a nasty storm, with a tornado that had touched down like 15 miles in front of us and coming our way. We had to stop immediatly, so we pulled in to some creepy, old motel. We paid for our rooms and quickly went inside only to discover they were infested with crickets! It was the worst night of my life! We were all glad to check out of there in the morning! That's my best vacation, in a nutshell. :)
This is an easy question! My best vacation was to Texas! I went with Erinn, Samm, and Erinn's mom and sister this last winter over springbreak. We visited Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and South Padre. The best part was when we saw the stadium Friday Night Lights was filmed!(My favorite show). We actually went into the high school and asked the principle if we could go out onto the field. They have very thick accents down there. Very thick! Oh, and when we arrived at the high school the football team was practicing! In March! They have an awesome football team. The show is actually based off the Pflugerville Panthers. We also saw Matt Saracen's house(character in the show). It was awesome. The car rides were also a ton of fun. Erinn and all of her accents made them very enjoyable:) We ate a lot of Chocolate Fudge Sundae poptarts and we also made a lot of pit stops at DQ! We arrived in South Padre late and we were hungary and the only thing open was this bar. It was called Big Boyz and there were a lot of drunk people dancing and singing karaoke. It was hilarious. We drove pretty much from the top of Texas to the very bottom of Texas, and let me tell you, Texas is a huge state! The worse part about the vacation was getting sunburned:( It hurt so bad, I literally couldn't move my back. I have never been sunburned that bad in my life and we were maybe out in the sun for a total of 3 hours. The sun is extremely powerful down there. Erinn, Samm, and I made a ton of memories in Texas. Too many to write, but I will say that that was one of my funnest vacations ever :) Oh, and Texas is where I inherited my nickname Tina :)
I have also been on a lot of vacations with my family that were a ton of fun! Every vacation I've been on has been great!
The only vacation I've ever been on was to South Dakota. We went to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Our car broke down one day and we got it fixed while we went to a mall. The mall was a disappointment though because it was full of tourist stuff. We went on a train ride through the Black Hills and went on the Needles Highway. On the train, the conductor kept pointing out horses and cows and people were taking pictures. I was kind of like, "Really? It's a cow!" But to each his own I guess. We went to lunch at an Indian Reservation Casino and I got an autograph from a chief. So all in all, it was a goo vacation.
Well... I have a ton of favorite vacations..the place but the people you travel with are huge factors to making each vacation unique and fun! It seems like every vacation I go on seems to be "the best one" Here are a few of the very best:
7th grade I went on a trip with my mom and sister out west. We drove through Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona for two weeks and then drove back to Illinois to move my sister in for school. Colorado holds many memories for me. My mom and I flew out a few times throughout the span of 4 years while Julie lived there. We went skiing and explored the beautiful mountains. In the summer we went kayaking and hiking. Colorado is one of my all time favorite places.
This past spring break, as you have heard, Samm, Christina and I went to Texas. Now that is a classic example of how the people you are surrounded with can make the biggest difference. I don't remember the specific scenery or landmarks we saw, but I do remember all of the jokes and ice cream we ate :)
Istanbul was wonderful. It was the farthest away from home I have ever been. The culture enriched my life and opened my mind to new ideas and concepts. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be immersed with such giving people.
And how can I forget Tennessee. My uncle Tony drove my mom and I down in an ambulance cab with a flat-bed back. The cab only had two seats so I sat in the middle on a lawn chair. It was very safe. We were in an ambulance after all. Now that trip truly enriched my life in a culture so different that it cannot be summed up in words. I will never forget Preacher Man and Robert Ann.
My best vacation would have to going to Sydney. It was great because I got to spend Christmas with my family in a totally different setting than normal. Instead of sitting around a Christmas tree, we spent the day on the beach. That sure was strange, but very nice. It was very cool to experience a totally different culture without the language barrier as well. The twelve hour plane flights and long layovers weren't the best, but the warm weather for two weeks sure made up for it!
My best vacation would have to be my first time to Florida. It was my first time on an airplane and it was exciting! The taking off and the landing. The only bad parts were the ears popping and the sort of long flight. Other than that the trip was great! I was like 6 so my family and I went to Disney and to the beach. It was a blast!
My best vacation would have to be, of course, Europe. I only wish we would've had a little more time to explore each city without always being on the go. We ate a lot of food while we were there, and I'm pretty sure Lydia and I ate gelato at almost every shop we could find. My favorite city would have to be Florence, Italy. It was much more relaxed than Rome, but still had the feel of Rome. The worst part of the trip was the flight over there because the food smelled terrible. I'm pretty sure I'll go back to most of the places we traveled.
The best-worst vacation i've had was when I traveled to Florida this summer. I went there for an AAU basketball tournament. The plane trip there was awesome, mostly becuase i've never been on a plane before. I went to three different beaches, and I am proud to say that i am in love with the ocean! I chose the ocean over Disneyland! that was the best part about it. The worst part about the trip to Florida was the basketball part. Our team did not end up doiing that well, which kind of put a damper on the trip. Then another bad part was on the plane ride home. I had a five year old boy in the seat right behind me. He kept kicking my chair and of course being a five year old their favorite saying is "why?". I swear he said that about a million times, and it was pure torture for me!
I would have to say my best vacation was when my family and I went to Florida when I was in sixth grade. We went all over by Orlando. First, we got to see Kennedy Space Center, then we went to Disney World, and ended our vacation going to Universal Studios. At the time, all those places could keep be busy for days. I remember hating when we had to go because I just did not want it to end. I hope my family and I go back someday.
My worst vaction was when i was 12 years old! my and my family went to sarah's CFC conference in Washington DC. I just a brand new bike 4 days before we were leaving and i went up my drive way. You see my drive way is a hill so the way down is fast. So going back down the hill i lost control of my bike and wiped out. I had raod rash all over. i had rocks in my knee and i was hurting all over. I still had to go on the trip even though i was all banged up. Well the hotel we were staying in had the most amazing pool i'd ever seen and i couldn't even go near it. It made me so sad. Then the second day we were there all the kids were ganna go to a water park which once again i could go to. So i stayed with my mom and we went to the gym. That was the worst idea ever i went on the tread mill and i ended up falling on it and reopened my sores. That whole 2 weeks was not fun for me so yeah i wish i could go back now.
My favorite vaction would have to be the one I just got back from. I spent a lot of time with my dad and enjoyed every minute of it. Yes, there were times when I was home sick, but other than that I had a blast! (:
The worst vacation I've ever had was when I went to Maryland earlier this summer. Apparently I'm allergic to sand and sun because I got a bad rash on my legs after sitting on the beach for an hour or so. It definitely wasn't fun at all.
