If you could meet one famous influential woman, dead or alive, who would it be? Why? Now write about an imagined meeting with that woman. Where do you go? What do you talk about together?

  1. Coco Chanel! I wrote about her as my hero as well. She definitely met the "famous/ influential" criteria. Despite being raised in poverty in an orphanage, she became wildly wealthy and successful during a time when success at all for women was still uncommon. She took ancient socioeconomic barriers and tore them down without a backward glance. Her designs themselves were revolutionary and led a whole new movement in not just women's clothing, but women's rights and ideas about their place in society. We would walk around Paris together, and I would see her first shop. We would talk about current events, as well as the current creative direction of the brand that still bears her name.

  2. I would want to meet Oprah. Oprah is a very insprirational woman and she always helps people. Oprah and I would meet on the top of a mountain and we would talk about nature and how wonderful the world would be if there was peace among everybody. We would talk about how the world is changing and if it is better or worse. Also, we would discuss all of the problems with the world and how they could be fixed. Our conversation would end with talking about all the good things she has done for people.

  3. I would want to meet Ellen Degeneres. She is really funny and very influential. Ellen helps out so many people in the world and I think she is great for that. If we could meet, we would meet up in New York. We would walk around all day going shopping and talking about why she does what she does. Then she would give me free tickets to her show with back stage passes. It would be an extremely fun day with Ellen.

  4. I would meet Ruffian. She isn't a woman, but she's a female, so I feel that's sufficient. She was the greatest female racehorse of all time. She was never behind in a race in her entire life. She set a record in every race she ran and was undefeated in her career until she was challenged to a match race against the 1975 Kentucky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure. Her right foreleg snapped in the race while she was in the lead. That ended her racing career and her life. She was filly of the year in 1974 and 1975, and may be the greatest racehorse that ever lived.
During the years in which Ruffian raced, she was a symbol of strength for woman, and the match race became a representation for "Battle of the Sexes". For many people, she inspired the idea that women are equal to men and are equally capable of success.
If I "met" Ruffian, we would go for a ride. We wouldn't go for a ride on the track, I would just let her run through a field or something. I can't even imagine riding a horse as fast and as powerful as Ruffian.

  5. I would like to meet Laura Ingalls Wilder. She had a very interesting life back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Little did she know that her many stories of her life made history. Her stories have touched my heart. I would love to meet her, but I would like to travel back to her time. I would travel back when she was about my age. I believe we would hang out and I would let her tell me stories about moving across the western front. We would walk to the near by town and go to the general store to get a piece of candy for a penny. Laura seemed to have a nice personality in her books. I would just love to experience the simple life of a pioneer for a couple days. :)

  6. I would love to meet the Queen of England. The main reason would just be because she is the Queen of England and England is awesome. I think it would be fun to be Queen. I think being queen would have a lot of responsibility, but it would be worth it! If I could meet her, we would talk about problems in the country and other jobs the Queen must complete daily. I would also love to meet Prince Harry (yes I realize Harry is a boy...But he’s just such a hot red head!)

  8. I would like to meet Audrey Hepburn. Shes a legend on the screen and her style is still mimicked in fashion. She worked alot for humanitarian causes and was modest about her acting. I have seen a few movies she was in and I think it would be interesting to meet her.

  9. I would like to meet Princess Diana. She was such a quiet girl, but later became known worldwide. She made such a transformation and all of it was all in the public eye. She has done so much for people. She raised money for AIDS research and different childrens organizations. I would go to Egland and meet up with The queen and we would go for a walk in England through gorgious gardens. After our walk we would go back to their castle and she could have tea while I would have coffee. Then I would go with princess Diana to the organization that she was helping that day. I would like to just see her in "action." I would sit there and watch how she influences people. After we were done at the event we would go back to the castle to dance and talk.

  10. I would talk with Princess Diana about what she does when she has a little bit of free time. I would also ask how she decides which organizations she is going to help. I would ask her so many questions because being royal seems to have so many interesting aspects.

I would for sure meet Deanna Favre, Brett Favre's wife, because she would definetly introduce me to Brett. Deanna and I would go meet up with Brett and then Deanna would eventually leave and Brett and I would play some catch and just hang out all day long.

  12. I would love to meet Hayley Williams. For starters, she is the lead singer of an amazing band called Paramore. But she has also been a part of organizations like To Write Love On Her arms that have helped man suicide victims across the nation. I think it would be such an honor to meet her. She is absolutely gorgeous and has an equally gorgeous voice.

  13. I would want to meet Dessa. She is a writer, rapper, and teacher from Minneapolis. She is also part of the group called Doomtree. I would love to go to one of her workshops to learn more about writing. She is one of the most influential writers I can think of and this is evident in her short stories and essays in "Spiral Bound" and in all of her music. If I ever got to meet her I would hope it would be in a workshop where we could just talk about writing.

  14. I think that it would be interesting to meet Micheal Obama. It would be interesting to hear what the first lady thinks of our countries current situation. I also think that it would simply be neat to hear about her lifestyle, and how she came to her current position. We could meet in an area with a more relaxed setting, such as a park. I would ask her about her time in the white house, and what she thinks of the constant threats to shut everything down.

  15. I would probably like to meet Harriet Tubman because she ran through the woods basically her whole life so I'm sure she saw some sweet things! Like trees falling and deer fighting. I think it would be pretty legit to talk to her. I bet she was really fast. She could probably teach me to run faster! That would be cool. We'd probably go to the local café and have some crumpets and tea. We would talk about all the people she helped escape of course and all her hiding tactics as well. I'm sure she was a nice lady.

  16. I would like to meet Tyra Banks. She is a very influential person. She grew up with a tough life and still managed to be the great person she is today. I think she is a great model because even though she is a celebrity now she doesn't let that stardom get to her and still give great advice. She actually has a heart and cares about things not just money becuase she knows what it is like to be living in the dumps.
